Woodgate??? He used to play for Real Madrid, he must be good, your defensive saviour :sarcasm: He is an average signing. So third time lucky for Hutton?

Woodgate is yet to be signed, and if so hell just boost our defensive stocks which are quite low atm, just look at the man u game all there goals off clear defensive errors and a keeper blunder but boy weve showed improvement since Ramos has akin the reigns, I'm 100% confident we'll pick up a result in either or our next 2 games aswell, despite it being Everton away and then Man u back at home

WOODGATE SIGNS

We are delighted to announce we have reached agreement with Middlesbrough for the transfer of Jonathan Woodgate.

The England international has made 16 league appearances for the Teesiders this season having joined them initially on loan from Real Madrid in August 2006, with the move being made permanent in April 2007.

I would imagine 7.3m of the 8m price tag is for medical bills...

You'd hope so anyway, otherwise there's a lot more money to be spent on Woodgate yet.

its rumoured to be about 17-18mill all up for the 3 of them

Ramos seems to be confident enough he can get Woodgate fit

I agree its a bit of a gamble, but on the other hand, imagine if they both stayed fit

Hutton On His Way To Spurs

ALAN HUTTON is set to become Scotland's most expensive player as he closes in on moving to Tottenham Hotspur today.

The Rangers full back has been chased by the London side all of this month and now they have got their man.

It is understood that the transfer fee could top the £9million Sunderland paid to Hearts for Craig Gordon, which is the current Scottish transfer fee record.

Rangers' previous transfer record was £8.5m when Giovanni van Bronckhorst moved to Ar5ena1 in the summer of 2001.

Rangers agreed a fee with Tottenham at the beginning of January but the 23-year-old intially turned down the chance to join Juande Ramos's side.

However, Spurs persisted in their overtures and following further discussions with the hugely talented Scotland star an agreement was reached. Once the formalities are completed, the deal will be done later today.

Hutton cleared out his locker at Murray Park and said farewell to his Rangers team mates, wishing them every success in their chase for the Championship.

Now Alan could be handed a fantastic debut against Manchester United on Saturday at White Hart Lane and has the Carling Cup Final to look forward to on February 24 when Spurs face Chelsea at Wembley.

The one thing you guys really lack. A striker. Johnson is good but you need someone to partner him. Pandev anyone?

We are delighted to announce we have reached agreement with Hertha Berlin for the transfer of Brazilian international Gilberto.

The left-back, who can also play on the left side of midfield, spent three and a half years in Germany where he made 101 appearances in the Bundesliga for Hertha after joining from Sao Caetano in his homeland.

The 31-year-old has won 27 caps for his country and was a member of the Brazil squads that won the 2004 and 2007 Copa America, as well as the Confederations Cup in 2005. He also featured in the 2006 World Cup and scored his first international goal against Japan.

Gilberto has made one previous appearance at White Hart Lane in September 2006 during the Brazil-Wales friendly fixture.
