What kind of weird shit is this?

Sounds like you’ve been to the Mary school for NRL statistics.
Well when you're discussing the quality of a teams defence when defending their own try line I'm not sure that an 80m intercept try conceded is relevant to the stats.

Surely that's a far cry from the "Mary school of NRL stats".

Cheer up Tommy. That crisp on your shoulder is ruining your sense of humor.

It’s so typical of the nrl that an issue that has been whinged about by fans for ten years at least doesn’t get addressed until it interrupts the biggest game all year! Re-active much?

What does Greenberg do besides turn down interviews?

Just to let you know how bad Langer was....

Last year was the first live game of NRLI'd seen in years - the Broncs v Manly double header at Lang Park.

Langer was on for every Broncos set in the first half positioned just behind the ruck. When Manly got the ball he would jog off.

In fact when a Broncs player got hurt another trainer would come and look after him.

This kept up until it was obvious Manly were going to win.

It was a joke.
Watching that game I remember thinking "WTF? Why is the referee allowing this?" [Silly question really. Brisbane & the Storm can get away with just about anything it would seem]

Langer was directing the attack like a traffic cop. At one stage in the game, he was shouting at the player with the ball & pointing at a hole in the defense. If memory serves the player scored.

Yes; it's a joke & a blight on the game.
Trainers should only be allowed on the field for an injury when the ref has called time off. Period. No exceptions.

#scratches head# ..... Well, he sometimes gives character references for thugs facing court.

I'm obviously in the minority here but I really don't give a toss about trainers on the field.

If a 53 year old Alfie or 43 year old Stacey Jones "running water" plays much of a part in the game I think we're ok.

If you need a trainer out there holding their hand your team is in bad shape and my 2 examples above show it doesn't make much difference. Apart from getting sconed in the GF I don't recall any mentions of the Rooster's trainer. Don't even know who Storm, Eels, Manly, or Raiders trainers are (don't even know Roosters bloke's name) so they can't be too prominent but those sides did better.

In short: unless the merkin gets in the road they have bugger all affect on the game.

Why was the Roosters trainer there from the kickoff?

We don't know the other trainers because they aren't ex-internationals like Langer.

No. Time to f##k em off.

f**k them off.

In every level of actual rugby league, from juniors to local A grade, trainers are told to get off the field if they are on there too much during play.

I’m not sure about state league level, but every other level of the game does this.

NRL isn’t real rugby league and this is one of the reasons why.
