they lost there " best " player and replace him with 4 -5 superior team players. Soldado, Eriksen, Lamela, Paulinho, Capoue is brilliant if they gel. add to the existing players Demb and Holtby.
They could easily push for the title but i think EL will hurt there chances.
The top 5 this season will be Between Man Utd/City Chelsea, Tots and Liverpool. Liverpool will go very close once Suarez comes back.
No not "best" player. He is the actual best player for Spurs.
He is also a lot better than the players brought in.
So while the squad may be better the first team is worse.
EL won't matter as the squad is so large.
I know you are worried about losing 4th to them, but you don't need to overhype their chances to much yet.
If all their players can adapt to the prem and they all play to their absolute potential then they will probably get 4th. But that was also true last year and it didn't work out for them then either. So don't panic yet.

Arsenal have enquired about 10 or so players from Madrid. Nothing is happening 'till Bale happens which is why Bale has not gone yet. After the Derby things will happen.
United are offering tuppence for any mid in Europe.
Liverpool are about to sign Sakho from PSG and some Portugese u21 defender.
Chelsea are still to busy crying about the super cup to do anything. Matais still rumoured to be going to Athletico/Spurs/Arsenal/anywhere.
