I couldn't see a topic for this, so apologies if there is one. This is straight up one of the best movies I've seen in the cinema, the effects are out of this world. The storyline is simple and has some pretty funny moments.

Thats good to hear, i've been waiting for a bout a year for this to be released, looking forward to reliving some childhood memories. Hope to see it this weekend, gotta say though, im a little bummed to find out they turned bumblebee into a camaro.

So was I - at first.

I hated the idea that they had f**ked around with the characters (Prime not being a flat-nose truck etc) but in Bumblebee's cas - there are enough references to V-Dubs and stuff that I really didnt mind.

I hated the idea that Michael Bay was directing.
I hate all his other work. Straight up - I was expecting this movie to be an overbudgeted wank-fest all about product placement and selling toys to kids while at the same time being a 'Yay! US Armed Forces killing insurgents' - but its not.

It is fan freakin tastic. I was a fan of the original cartoons - not a big-ive-got-all-the-original-eps-on-dvd-and-all-the-toys-in-mint-condition - type fan, but I liked and remember most of the characters.

This movie really does do the show justice.

There are some daggy over the top cheesy moments. There is some pretty good acting from a few unknowns. There is some woeful acting from usually solid John Tuturro. Some unconvincing acting from John Voight. Bernie Mac while his appearance is brief - is awesome, and there are some pretty darn cool transformers!!!!

Im not the world biggest action movie fan - but I highly reccommend this to everyone who has the slightest interst in Transformers. See it at the movies, the big screen and hi-quality sound systems will really add to your viewing experience.

I rated it a solid 4/5 stars.

Luckily Spielberg is involved. The script is crap but the visuals are arguably the best I've seen in a movie in a long time (probably ever).

5/5 for the visuals, technical production, sound effects

1/5 for the script and acting (and I'm being generous)

I found it lacked any epic quality, Prime vs Megatron should have been the show piece of the movie, the epic conclusion, it wasn't and I was left disappointed and some of the Transformers voices just didn't seem to fit with the characters to me. All in all it was average and will no doubt spawn a sequel.

Prime vs Megatron won't be an epic conclusion because they've already worked in 2 ore sequels.

It's only when they need to empty the shelves and sell some more, newer toys that they'll kill off charatcers, like they did in the 1986 animated movie.

wow what a coincidence, Spielberg capitalizing on peoples faciniations

Does this guy just dig up old stories and decides to direct them? or just use peoples fantasies or fears as an idea to what movies he should direct?

He's the most over-rated, unoriginal director of all time, QT owned him in the originality aspect in just 1 film.

Next he'll direct a new age Alice in Wonderland film or Astro Boy:roll: or any film with historical reference or peoples facinations any way:roll:

???... QT is just plain weird... hes original alright... because who in there right mind would come up with a stupid concept like kill bill. all he does is rehash 70's and 80's b-grade action films. he was a sh*thouse actor and even more of a sh*thouse director. fluked 1 good film with pulp fiction and hasnt brought out anything remotely good ever since. ohhh hang on... he did slap his name on Hero and Hostel didnt he... even though he really didnt have much to do with them. yeah hes real original.

spielberg has been captivating people with his movies for a long time now... lets wait 20 years time and see how QT stacks up...

but hey... you probably dirty on the acadamy for not recognising your namesake...

on the transformers movie i enjoyed it. when i heard micheal bay was directing it i actually thought it was going to be interesting. i dont know if hes teamed up with spielberg before but his movies with bruckheimer are always spectacular action flicks. Bad BoyzII had the best car chase i have ever seen so i knew the action would be awesome. bumblebee was pretty awesome... a wicked camero. i only wished megatron was somesort of gun. i know a handgun like the cartoon wouldnt fit but even if he turned into some sort of supercannon like galvatron.

bring on the sequel...

QT's films are more original then anything SS does, all SS does is read about about stuff on fantails and decides to do a movie on it, yay original:roll: .

QT is alot smarter director and his movies are more piece of work then anything SS does.

Kill Bill owns anything SS does, lol ET:lol: Star Wars:lol:

Lets wait for yet another original concept from SS.

As for 20 years? the day SS releases something as good as PF is the day i love the Ramones.

He did ALMOST however direct Return Of The Jedi....

Personally I think Spielberg is overrated. The only films of his I like are Jaws and the Indy Trilogy.

Don't even get me started on Tarantino.

Duel, Schindlers List, are my favourite Spielberg films...
