If that's how you view things we might as well not have a forum. This place would be dead if everyone just sat around not discussing differences of opinion. I have a great deal of respect for the posters who disagree with some genuine conversation but all you want is everyone to hold hands and to talk in circles about how great everything is.

I think it really is as simple as this. Hook has had many different spine combinations, something Cleary didn't have to endure. Least of all, he didn't have a rookie halfback. Hook had a broken Soward and a halfback in Wallace whose time was up. The spine is everything. It's why the Storm let Inglis go and kept Cronk, Smith and Slater together. It's why the Cowboys have been successful when they have two Australian halves in Morgan and Thurston and the Roosters with Pearce and Maloney. That is why Hook quite rightly rubbished the talk of top four. Our spine wasn't good enough for top four. Simples.

Going into the finals Cleary had Wallace, John, Cartwright and Peachey injured forcing his halves to be Soward and Smith.

Meanwhile the majority of Hooks spine changes were his own doing. Sure he had a couple of minor injuries to deal with. But it was his choice to drop Soward. To drop Segeyaro. To drop TMM. It was his choice to use short term solutions for a year before deciding on Moylan.

His decision to release depth was the reason we had as many halves as we did.

TMM was injured last year. We still choose to let Soward go and run with Cartwright out of position for the rest of the season.

Every coach has injuries to deal with. The severity of them is the main difference. Cleary always had season ending injuries. Wallace. John. Peachey and Cartwright all out for the season at once. Thats ridiculous. Will Smith was the last resort.

No but people literally use 'squad changes' etc as one of the reasons for our performance or underperformance however you want to look at it.

If what has been published about Moylan is true then it should never of gone on so long, it should of been dealt with after 2016 which is when this supposedly go back to. Poor management to let a distraction like that remain captain and in the picture, really poor, while the coach didn't create that disruption he also didn't handle it and instead let it drag out and blow up 18 months later a week before a must win game, really poor from both Hook and Gus there.

And the Bryce stuff I don't really want to go into, terrible for all involved but I don't see it as effecting our season either way besides keeping Bryce our for a little longer then he needed for that injury which lets be realistic Bryce being out is a bonus half the time.

There were the TMM rumours. The players dropped after Melbourne. Merrin breaking up with Sally also.

Other's in the squad may of takeb it poorly and form dropped. So we aren't too know.

Would you rather we get the exactly the same team every regardless of form like with Ivan? You said it yourself we were terrible at times on field so why not try other things to fix it?

149 posts of dribble putting shit on posters that have been on here for years in most cases and have had plenty of positive to say in that time as well as the negative. Who the f**k are you to waltz in like the messiah and have a crack at how people post. People have opinions champ, how about you offer some of yours that relate to the mighty Penrith Panthers without getting all teary eyed about what everyone else thinks. Soward's injury should have been managed properly and he should have been retained to partner Cleary. We wax lyrical about what BBQ will do to help Nathan's development, yet disregard what 18 months of even an 80 percent fit Soward would have offered as opposed to the makeshift production line that we got.

Seggy going was the right move, but letting Korisou go was dumb in hindsight. Wal for the most part has been fine, but again poorly managed injury wise.

Change is fine if it has direction. Hook seems to have the navigation skills of a lost merkin.
