Are you guys naming a team or is that a game day surprise?

Out of curiosity, if Cleary doesn't see Moylan as being ready for the halves and DWZ is dead set on being a fullback when his contract is up in 2016, what would you guys do?

the team was supposed to be named at 4 today with members getting a email.Never happened sadly. But to give you a idea the back line will be mostly young kids.Soward is playing wallace is not

Kickoff: 3pm (NZ ), 1pm (AUS – Live on Fox Sports 5)

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary will field a strong side for Saturday’s trial match against the Warriors in Rotorua, with 28 players making the trip to New Zealand to kick start the 2015 season.

There’s a handful of players returning to the line-up from off-season injuries and surgeries, including Jamie Soward, Peter Wallace, Bryce Cartwright and Elijah Taylor. Young guns Matt Moylan and Tyrone Peachey will miss the trial due to their All Stars commitments.

A few first grade debutants will have a run this weekend including Eddie Aiono, Andy Saunders and Christian Crighton who are all looking to impress and push for a permanent spot in the side.

After a successful 2014 campaign, the team is looking forward to giving their fans a good result ahead of round 1, and they’ll be aiming to give the Warriors a tough contest in front of their home fans.

Cleary likes Yeo I wouldn't be surprised if he was named in the centres for round 1. He is expecting big things this year from him.

Do you have. Any details for Waqa blames injury because fox sports predicted he'd been in the round one side and I really was excited to see him play, is he any chance

Yeo or Brown at centre is depressing.
This.

If Blake can't get a run while Idris, Mansour and DWZ are injured. There's next to no chance he gets a run at all in 2015. The best chance he and the Jennings boys had this season was getting a run early on while the other guys are injured.

Once we're fully fit, there's almost no chance anyone gets dropped. So barring another 3 injuries to backs, or a combination of injuries and origin picks. There's simply no way that anyone new will get a run in our backline.

It's a very poorly timed injury for Blake, just as it was for George Jennings last year. George Jennings would have likely been a first grade regular by now if he had not been injured in the 9's last year.

There seems to be a bit of Yeo hate. Why?

I thought he had a terrific 2014 season.

He did he is a very good prospect and he can handle centre fine, he just isnt flashy enough for some people.

And MX Gould has said that Waqa will play FG this year so I wouldnt worry he will get his chance.

Edit: This isnt the article I was thinking of but he says he would of debuted last year.

I think with the great season we had last year we probably forget that Clearly is typically pretty conservative with blooding young guys. I guess it's worked pretty well but I certainly wouldn't expect a Jennings, Blake, Whare, Jennings back line round one.

^that backline would likely get carved up if we ran them out round one.
