Who knows. Others may know how his career went. Has he been playing NSW cup this whole time? Maybe he has had a break and played some park footy and only just come back recently.
He was in England with Ryan Carr I believe. Featherstone Rovers. Followed him home to the Eels. Before that Mounties and Bulldogs 20s. Just one of those blokes who fits our system perfectly and he has flourished.

Capewell will be the biggest loss for them people won't realise how important he was until he is gone.

I still think they have enough quality to finish top 4. It will come down to motivation and injuries they have been up for 2 years and conquered the mountain can they do it again.

If Cleary comes back well, and the rest of the squad stay reasonably fit, then they will be a contender again. Cleary changes everything. He is like Turbo is to Manly. I don't think they can win it, but they will be there abouts if Cleary is on song.

He is a front rower. He has stuck at it and has been determined. He is big and powerful and has a motor on him. So as we all know, some players mature much later then others for a multitude of reasons, especially attitude. And finally he plays in a position that generally is famous for late bloomers. The engine room needs maturity and man power. He has obviously reached it now and has his head on to advance and go to the next level.

Anyone who watched him play last year could see he was busting his gut to get there and now he has it all in front of him. I am very proud of him and love how he has stuck it out and come so far so late in the game. A must for a bench spot in my opinion. He would never let us down. To hungry for that and good to see our recruitment feel the same way and have rewarded the scaffolder with an extension. I hope he doesn't piss it up against the wall or gambles it away like so many do. I hope he is a tight arse or has a partner that will nag and force him to put the money aside and they save it for their future and buy a flat or house. He only has 3-5 years at most so make hay while the sun shines young man. You owe it to your future self and family for all the hard work and pain you have put in.

Ive only seen highlights ... but what we managed to do in the wet was quite decent

Simonssen isnt as big as i thought he was.

It might be because i didnt see alot of the game, but Russell seems to have a bit of footy smarts - as in when to run away from the sideline, angles to run etc ... he just isnt particularly big for a current day winger.

I noticed Moses, Drown, Mahoney and Jrther were all on the field at the same time for a while

For mine the most pleasing aspect of the game was as the commentators now call it, our connectivity.

It is what has been missing from our game for a few years now and what I have been banging on about forever but have had silly posters like Pou respond with nonsense like the coaching staff know better and as if I know better then them. Or we don't have the quality players to pull it off....which is such a ridiculous and nonsensical argument.

Well as BA said before the game they have worked hard on it in this off season because the penny finally dropped for him and his coaching staff, especially when in the red zone both in attack and defense, that we needed some much needed improvement in this area. So I loved watching our team finally consistently use decoy runners and short passes from player to player while all in motion. This is the way you don't tax our big men in the middle with just a power game option and then by the end of the season you are running flat and struggle to put 2 games together of high intensity.

Now I know the Panthers were like playing a 2nd grade team last night so I won't get ahead of myself, but the signs were there. The real test though will be when we play a strong opposition and then we will see how we respond then. If we stick to the new style I'll be expecting a better then even chance of winning the Premiership. If we revert back to our one dimensional style of play when under pressure, then chances are the Chooks, if healthy will win it.

For mine, Russell is ahead of Bailey.

JA came in and Drown got shifted to the centres

This could be Ennis' influence

No doubt. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. He knows how forwards need to link and we have had no idea in resent season. Even the relationship between the playmakers and forwards was almost non existent before, which is a crime in RL terms. I've never seen a team win a premiership that doesn't know how to link its forward to it backs the way we have been the last few years.

Anyway, like I said, I hope that this isn't just a mirage and when the season proper starts we go back to our hitup game when confronted with a tough opposition.

Go Ennis you good thing. I can't wait to watch and listen to him this season on the telly and him talking us up...will be awesome and quite funny at the same time. Hahaha...

Love it and sucked in Ennis you Clowndick!

Don't know why Joey couldn't force this over the years he was with us or did BA stubbornly refused until we lost last year?

I like the Ennis signing.... and also hopefully, he will have ideas as to who we need for our future in terms of talent.

Cronk also was very Parra positive last night

Joey isn't a great communicator, but also it's the forwards that have shown the biggest change in our attack and that would be under Ennis's purview and how he sees forwards combining with each other in particular and the play makers especially the Dummy Half and the primary play maker our number 7.

I'm hoping to see way more interchanges between our frontrowers and footwork before the line. If we get the balance right between pure hitups and tip ons or short interchange passing between our big men, then no team in the NRL will be able to sop us. We are the most powerful pack in the NRL, add foot work and slight of hand skills into the mix and we will blow teams away. Also our slightly faster backline will see way more space if this happens and they will be scoring big. The halves will be having a field day, but it all depends on our connectivity. I know the new buzz word of the season.

But like I said, I don't want to get my hopes up before we see what they actually do when they play the better teams. A one dimensional hitup game will be good enough as it has been in the past to get us to the Semis, but I doubt we will be fresh enough or good enough for consecutive weeks to take out the title if that is all we have again.

We did try this last year. Chain passing between the forwards. However, it usually led to drop balls as the execution was poor.

This match, I saw RCG passing and that's rare. If he could develop that skill, we will be at a new level too. He's tall, long limbed so if he could pass more he would be at a new level. Especially close to the line with Rheed.

However, let's just hope they don't go back to tuck it under your arms and that they only did that coz it was a trial.

We have Moses and Guth with Drown hopefully coming along.
Throw in a pack with the likes of Jason Smith and Jim Dymock with some speedster sniffing around in Russell and Bailey.

Hopefully, we have much more attacking arsenal.

Joey was very vocal before joining parra and whilst with parra about earning the right to shift wide. He wanted hit up after hit after hit up then shift.
If you always stick to that mantra you become very predictable which happened during that lull.
A bit of variety and ball playing keeps the defense guessing.
Need to have the right balance of playing conservative and shifting when the opportunities are there.
Ennis influence may just bring that...

Ennis said in that last interview that we works with the spine and emerging kids in high performance every now and then.

Mary seems to be about much more.

Drown moved to left centre with Arthur playing left half. Blake played wing.
