Trial game leads to trial songs.

Hey guys,

Last night I started the song "saints go marching" in a slow version then getting faster as the song went along.

Basically we sang the song slow without repeating the first two verses. It went as follows.

Oh when the Saaaaiiinnnnttttsssssss (really slow)
Go marching iiinnnnnnnnnnnn (really slow)
Oh when the saints go marching in (clapping starts and song gets faster)
I want to be in that number (clapping continues and song gets faster)
When the saints go marching in.

Then we repeat the song at a fast speed and then go back to tradition where someone leads and everyone repeats.

I hear it sung like this in the Premier League and it sounds AWESOME and i wanted to trial it last night. It got an awesome responce last night and should go gang busters throught the season.

Anyone there last night hear it and do you have any thoughts or feedback.

I was there in the box above the army, and the slow version of Oh When the Saints sounded great.

I also think the 'We are Number one', chant has a brilliant ring to it.

I was nearby with a few neutral guests. The slow-burn version was great. Unmistakeable. When the army group swells once the comp starts, and people get used to that version, it will be something else. Nice work

Sounded great from about 60m away.

I would suggest it gets used frequently, and would even keep it slow for a couple of rounds before you speed up. Would give the chant a couple of minutes of run time instead of 30 seconds.

I was with the missus just sitting to your left and the new version was great! As Stg-Macca said, it'd be great if it went for longer.

But I know what it's like, once you get started it's difficult to keep the pace down and go for longer isn't it? It's natural just to race to the finish!! ;-)
