Broncos vs Warriors trial is on channel 9 this Sunday.

Good news for me, just got rid of foxtel.

Team for final trial, should be pretty close to what we see round 1. Parker at front row is interesting, but I'm sure it won't change his game at all. I like the idea, he already plays through the middle and it gives us a chance to play our mobile back rowers and thaiday. After seeing Copley in the nines I have big hopes for him this year. Should go well at left centre.
1 Josh Hoffman
2 Stewart Mills
3 Dale Copley
4 Jack Reed
5 Lachlan Maranta
6 Kodi Nikorima
7 Ben Hunt
8 Josh McGuire
9 Andrew McCullough
10 Corey Parker
11 Alex Glenn
12 Matt Gillett
13 Sam Thaiday

Interchange:
14 Martin Kennedy
15 Ben Hannant
16 Todd Lowrie
17 Jarrod Wallace
18 Jake Granville
19 Jordan Drew
20 Zach Strasser
21 Jharal Yow Yeh

Loving that this game is on FOXSPORTS. Love it.

Looking forward to:

1. Kodi Nikorima: Impressed me somewhat prior to the Nines though he really made me take notice in the NRL Nines.
2. Ben Hunt: The key to how far we go this season. I am quietly confident Hunt will follow up his good end to 2013 with a strong season.
3. Dale Copley: I have everything crossed for him in 2014. I hope he can remain injury free and I liked what I saw in the NRL Nines. Looked strong.
4. Zach Strasser: Much to like about him, I hope he gets an extended stint off the bench.
5. Martin Kennedy: Strongly tipped to be off-side with those that matter at the club. I'd like to see how he responds in his first real trial for our club.

Like Man2iel I'm particularly keen to see how Kodi, Copley and Kennedy go.

Always cringe though when seeing Maranta on the team sheet. Hopefully when Barba, Hodges and Oates comes back he will be nowhere to be seen.

We will be doing well if we can keep up with the Warriors imo. I think they are definitely a top 8 side this year.

Looking forward to watching last trial. Not happy it has been mentioned that Thaiday regardless of number will play in the middle. Thaiday should play right hand fringe only. We're basically going use same formula in forwards as we have in last 2 years. I don't know how to expect anything but the same result as in previous 2 years.

I am perplexed by this too. If they are saying that they are going to play the same way regardless of numbers on backs then why bother changing the numbers in the first place?

I don't understand either. We've basically have got the same game plan as previous years. What's that say for changes in play for our halves? We've been too structured the last couple of years. We throw set play after set play and if all them don't work we kick. Was it Norman, Wallace and Prince that lacked creativity or were they told to stick with structure. Are the new players just wearing numbers and playing like we've had the last couple of years? In Thaiday's case his form has dropped so much from being played out of position you never see him break the line unless playing for qld or australia.

This Warriors trial is like watching another round of 2013, off the pace and not up to it at all. Maranta bombing tries.

Granted we would be a better side with Barba and Hodges out there, but who knows how many games they'll play this year.

Tough first half where we were on the wrong end of the possession stat (65% vs. 35%). Some of the positional change experimentation hasn't added to the team and I am not for experimenting this late in to the trials. That's just me.

We need to add some respectability to proceedings here and at least win the second half.

Ben Hunt is a bad player. We have the worst halves pairing (whoever the second person is) in the comp.

this is just frustrating to watch

griffin - if the play didnt work last yr why would it work this year
people have figured it out better then the broncos players they know excatly who to attack

maranta- i back him at the start he looked like he could really step up .....hes had his chance get rid of him

kodi- should have a great year if he keeps this kind of level up

hunt- i really do like hunt in the halves but tonight so many times he wasnt quick enough and the defence moved up he was left with nothing

Great show by our kiwi friends they must be looking forward to this season.
with the attack and defence they showed today they're a finals team for sure

just 2013 with a new jersey

Dragons were horrible, we have been worse.

Albeit we are playing a trial, this is really worrying to watch. Very hard to stomach. Ben Hunt showed promise at the back end of last season though he has had a horrible end to the pre-season here. My blinded bias may be the end of me this pre-season as I had Hunt being up to doing a fair job in the 7 jersey.

Neil Henry to be coach by round 5/6.

I'd settle for Neil Henry though would prefer Kevin Walters to come back to the fold. Walters can have a Darren Lehmann type effect on the club and with it the team's fortunes. We have lost our way since Bennett in terms of the Brisbane Broncos culture - you used to feel it when walking in to the Leagues club. When I was there in 2013, I didn't sense it. Something is missing and it starts from the man in charge of the first grade team.

my dream would be brisbane moving into a more specialised way of coaching
Bennet head coach
Walters offensive coach
Stone defensive coach
locky and petro trainers/coach assist

but its about as likely as manziel becoming a decent human being (player not LU member)

How did Ben Hunt go?
Will fatman Bretto be making any more highlight videos of him anytime soon?

I am not sure why you insinuate Johnny Manziel isn't a decent human being. Each to their own though. I am interested and support the player who represents the mighty TAMU! Jump on the bandwagon, it's going to be one hell of a ride over the next 10-15 years
