Either of those halves pairings are handy imo as a back up. But if both get injured then we are f**ked


Looking forward to seeing how Teoai goes closer to the action. Think prop is his position in the future and lock gives us a glimpse into how he handles the middle. If he goes well I'd be tempted to keep him there and bring Choc back via the bench

You could see in the 9s the class difference between cornish and kelly.The way cornish would read the overlap and execute the try.
Kelly couldnt even do that in a game of 9s.

If GOrdon gets injured, we'd struggle.

2001 seems a more rounded team.
The right centre/wing pairing for 2016 would be the weakness

2 things out of that for mine.
Was 86 even the best year for some of those players? Remarkable that if we were to somehow uncover the best ever backline some time in future, they'd have to beat all those early 80s backlines.
And you can really see why we haven't won since then given those 3 halves pairs in those 'good' years. Beutts & Taylor were great in that year but if their your best halves in close to 2 decades...
