Being a huge horror fan i decided to see what the fuss was about with True Blood, So i watched the christmas day marathon on Showcase on Foxtel, I was very impressed of how well it was put together.

I've always been a big Zombie/Slasher fan but now that the Zombie genre is falling away with dumb Zombie movies (Apart from ZombieLand) and the contest Slasher remakes i thought it was time for something new.

I've never been a Vampire fan at all the only movies i liked were The Lost Boys and Near Dark, But True Blood blew me away and really keeps your attention and the show is very well explained all the way thru.

Just now Finished watching the 2nd Season of True Blood as it finished up on Showcase this past Monday, As it goes along the show gets better and better, I just cant wait for the 3rd Season with already Australian Ryan Kwentan(Vinnie From Home and Away) on the show, He is gonna be joined by Grant Bowler (Blue Heelers) it gonna be awesome.

The whole Wearwolfs Vs Vampires Vs Humans is going to be must see TV.

I just can't get why so many people like Twilight as i watched the first hour and then turned it off because it was so boring.

i bought the first season on dvd.......... it's watchable but nothing ground breaking IMO. I actually enjoy the opening credits more than the show itself........

Another fan True Blood. Just about finished S2. Never watched Twilight and don't plan to any time soon.

I don't normally go for this stuff but I do enjoy True Blood. Twilight is for 13 year olds, & as such does a great job. It's the older ones that scare the bejesus outta me. Though there is a good DeMotivational poster floating around that says something like "Twi-Mums: If it was 40 year old men screaming for a 17 year old girl, someone would call the cops". I laffed.

Both Twilight and True Blood kinda fail, but True Blood gives you the chance to see Anna Pacquin's tits. Therefore True Blood wins.

Anyone who's not a 13 year old girl or bellow and watch's twilight needs to take a good hard look at themself.

Love a good vampire movie but nothing from the last 5-10 years.

Been so overdone lately its pathetic.

How many of you have actually seen Twilight, out of curiosity?

I have, and it was 'meh', but I tend to see a lot of people bag it without having seen it.

I've had the misfortune (opportunity i guess) to both read both series of books (Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series + Steph Myer's Twilight series), have seen Twilight #1 and both seasons of True Blood. The books are excruciating to get through at times due to the female protag being hard to relate to, and the language isn't that crash hot in either (Harris' being superior...) this translates into True Blood/Twilight film as True Blood has a lot more to offer due to its adult themes, which provides it with depth etc + True Blood diverges from the books to suit the TV format (offering multiple plotlines, different arrangements of events etc.) which again raises its quality. I enjoy True Blood, and am looking forward to the third season... Jason becomes a 'werepanther'.

@DB That'd be it! :lol:

Read 3 1/2 of the books & seen both movies. The first in Gold Class at a pre-screening which I subsequently got yelled at for snoring through. Then the person I WENT WITH started on me! An ex literally read them from book 1 to 5 (?) & then started again on her train ride to work. I figured before I bagged the sh*te out of them I should at least get a little educated on it! ;-)

No, it doesn't.

But it seems a lot of people buy into this "it's cool to call Twilight gay" mentality without actually having seen it or read the books.

But I agree - it's dull, predictable and boring. I remember when watching the DVD of "New Moon", the girl was like, "You'll never guess what happens next!"

I said, "It turns out that Native American kid is a werewolf - the same werewolf from the trailers?"

"...."

Twilight and True Blood both focus on completely different audiences. Twilight is a romance novel dressed up as a vampire flick - nothing more. It's embarrasing to even call it a vampire flick, but there's vampires in it so there you go.

However, it is extremely marketable because of that and in today's society, something marketable is much more likely to succeed than something that isn't marketable but was done by someone with talent.

True Blood is fantastic. Easily one of the best shows currently. Not long until s03 now.
