So the brother was dressed as a bird because "it was Caspere's"... uhh ok? And the seemingly strategic dumping place for the body was really where he just ended up after crazying out and driving Caspere around town. In fact he didn't even mean to murder him, which considering he was prepared to murder Halloway in broad daylight seems rather inconsistent. And what was he doing at Caspere's orgy shack with a shotgun loaded with whatever in the first place?
And Ray's epiphany, "it's that random dude at the movie set she talked to", right up there with the season one green ears moment.
This guy just can't write murder mysteries or detective work for shit. First season he just left shit without answers, this season he just throws out randomness and crazy for answers and I'm not sure which is worse.
Next season should just be action focussed, piss the mystery aspect off. Both seasons were at their best during action scenes.
so im guessing you wont be tuning in if theres a third season.
im assuming Frank was sold out by the turks? or the diamond people.
As for Ray and Franks 'arcs' ending, the way I see it is they died the arrogant men they were. Both had multiple times through the series where they could have ran and got themselves out and both found excuses to keep themselves in. Frank died because somebody wanted his jacket and ray died because he wanted to see his son one more time. Both accepted death over the alternative.
I don't necessarily think that's bad or lazy writing.
The ending scene itself I liked, Ani handing it over to the reporter. It isn't Ani's story to tell anymore. Only the reporters to relive it.
The main problem I had was the shootout at the house in the hills, how rushed it felt, how underwhelming it was and how strategic and careful they were there and then both ray and frank became the dumbest humans on earth once driving around with millions of dollars in their cars
Ray going to see his kid was stupid. As I father I get why he wanted to but wtf did he take his own car for? Hell, he didnt even try to disguise himself either even though he must have known that his kids freakin school would have been one of the obvious places they would stake out for him. His silly sprint out into the open was just as bad seeing as he managed to take out 2 of the 4(?) guys pretty easily by just hiding behind a tree and waiting for them to turn away. A little more patience and he nails the other useless merkins the same way
Frank getting caught by the Mexicans made little sense either. Was he driving his own car too or did the Turks tip them off?
so im guessing you wont be tuning in if theres a third season.

Why didn't Ray get his stuff out of the car and call a cab
I got the impression the Mexicans were gonna kill him anyway, and the dude wanted the suit before it was ruined with bullet holes and what not. Pretty sure Frank was fighting for his life, not the diamonds
I didn't read it that way. Frank was cocky and enquired about a ride back which insulted the Mexicans. They were getting in their cars and leaving.
Not a patch on the first season.
Still okay though.
