True Utility

Lewis has been the best given just how well he has gone from the wing to the back row

Gidley has played fullback and in the halves during his FG career but has slotted into the centres, on the wing, in the backrow and at hooker for NSW and Australia. He is the best as far as versatility goes but probably lacks the x factor outside of fullback or hooker.

Wing was the best utility given he could cover multiple roles within the one game. Lewis was a shit 5/8 and fits more in to the progression of his career in the Fittler mould.

Mick Crocker used to play hooker for the Roosters under Stuart as well then again so did Finch.

Another candidate would be Fittler

But i guess that was more of just a progression in his career

Centre, Lock, 5/8

Progression IMO

Chris McQueen saved what was left of Souffs season last year by filling in just about everywhere, and doing a pretty decent job of it.

Beau Ryan. Backrow, winger, fullback, center. Then again, most of the Tigers players are utilities due to Sheens rotations.

Jason Croker is well in the conversation for great utility

my nomination is dave taylor though, who else plays prop, 2nd row, centre and wing in the same game?

I'd say Luke Lewis is the most versatile of the current crop. Preston Campbell also played in a few different spots. Ben Creagh and Jamie Soward can play a couple of positions and also enjoy playing dress-ups when no-one else is around!

It has to be Craig Wing tho. I always hated seeing his name on a NSW bench, and sure enough he would come on and carve qld up :(
