Are we gonna win?

Do we have the side to beat the Sharks?

What if we lose, were does that leave us?

Do we have the team and ability to make our opposition fear coming to play us at CUA.

AFter the last two seasons is our established first team squad in decline?

Do we really have the quality coming thru the juniors to step up?

In the opinion of Kilkenny season 2007 is a watershed season.

Surely, nothing less than a top eight position would be acceptable.

A loss against the Sharks will not be a disaster and will not end our hopes for 2007, but it is a must two points if we are going to be a force in 2007. It is one of those games the top sides expect to win. The Sharks while difficult to beat are not expected by most to be there come finals time in September.

Look, I don't expect a repeat of 2003!

I just look forward to the sort of commitment, attacking football and performances at home that we enjoyed in 02/03/04.

If we win all our games at CUA with 20,000 spectators packing the ground, with a great atmostsphere that will be good enough for me.

But seriously, I concur. All I look forward to is commitment. I don't want to judge a season on a Round 1 lack of performance.

Losing is not an option it is only after fulltime when you look for excuses. The forwards even them self out .Our edge is a greater speed in backline they are a big backline. It will come down to the kicking game. Wallace needs a good long kicking game

Agreed, but geez a win and two points will be crucial. Our draw in not overly kind considering we back up against the Dogs and Broncos.

I seriously hope we are not going into the home game against the Titans 0-3.

Ironically we were 3-1 after four rounds in 2006 and the loss against the raiders was golden point. It was all downhill from there, granted Gowie never fully recovered from his rib injury against the Eels.

For success in 2007 we need to start well and actually go on with the job. We need to substantially improve our home form and hopefully be unbeatable at CUA. This will be crucial to our success.

We cannot afford to have a home record of 4-8 if we hope to make the 8. It must be 8-4 to have any chance. If our home record is 8-4 that would still mean we need at least 5 wins away just to finish in 8th spot.

Two points in this one is all that matters.

Our performance is secondary. That will come, hopefully.

When Pritchard, Moke, Jennings, Rodney and Firman are fully fit this will increase competition for places which is so important.

It's all about Shark Park. It's all about performing well sufficient to win the two points.

I think the game is 50-50. I am by no means confident of victory.

Anything less than 100% from our boys will surely not be good enough to secure the two competition points.

A loss leading into the Bulldogs & Broncos could mean 0-3 which will put us on the back foot straight of the bat in 2007. It will not mean the end but it will make if difficult.

I think it'll come down to the 1,6,7,9

Cronulla:
Simmons, Dykes, Kimmorley, Kingston

Penrith:
Wesser, Wallace, Gower, Priddis

IMO Penrith has the edge there.

Kingston is good, but he aint no Priddis...or Aiton for that matter.

IMO Issac De Gois, is a much better hooker and will get the starting spot by the end of the year.

Unfortunately the game isnt just physical,a lot of it comes down to the stuff between your ears..and penrith need to get this aspect of their game spot on

i wouldnt expect much, this is a big year for the sharks

hopefully penrith can just be commited and give there best. if that happens and the sharks dont play well and a few calls go your way, who knows, stranger things have happened.

Our attack was terrible. I really don't know where the points are going to come from. Certainly not from a Wallace - Gower combination. Bring in Firman.

Chin up Panthers. I think that will be the teams worst perfornmance of season 2007. You may not win the next couple of games, but it will be an improvement on tonight.

I am extremely glad for the win, but no high fives just yet.
