So the post was about life's knocks...Seemed straight forward to me
That's his claim. Yes. But it's not straight forward at all. I think it's far more probable it was in reference to his court case. We're both biased Panthers fans with different opinions on what he was trying to say. So clearly there's nothing straight forward about it.

He has previously lied to try avoiding punishment. As have many others aswell... it's common for people to lie or bend the truth to avoid punishment. His history of bending the truth counts against him herr

What we think is irrelevant though. It's up to him to convince our club to keep him. He has the backing of the coach and our star player and captain. So his odds are better than any other player would be in this situation.

That’s really not the issue here thou.

The issue is whether his conduct is deemed worthy of his contract with us being terminated.

The outcome will be interesting.

If the players can’t understand that a serious conviction has led us to this point, then we’ve got a real problem.

At the very least he deserves to be dealt with fairly and impartially regardless of ones personal opinion of him as a person or as a footy player.

To me the teenager photo was the key to the post but like you said not everyone thinks that.

Coach is close to O'Neill. Brandy too is close to the Cleary's so atleast they will be open to his version but hopefully still drill down to get answers. If they get the answers and decide to move him on fair enough but atleast they didn't just jump at shadows

That is the impressive part for me that the club hasn't reacted without getting all the information

He will be fine.
If Ivan thought it a good thing to be a character witness for him in court he will do it again. Nathan will no doubt let it be known he thinks May is a decent bloke and he wants him to stay.
Job done. He stays with maybe a fine to make it look like the board got tough on him. After that it will be hard to sack any player for misconduct when they say "Yeah, but look what May did and he stayed."

I think everyone from the club, players and our fans understands what he did resulting in his criminal conviction was wrong.

No one condones or defends such actions, but they were lesser offences able to be dealt with by a Magistrate in the local court. The upper end of the severity of criminality is dealt with by a higher court, District Court to start with. His offences weren’t at that level even if abhorrent In the court of public opinion.

He was involved! The NRL inquiry established that. Your argument is absurd.
He was suspended because he backed up Nathan's story, which wasn't entirely truthful. Nothing more, nothing less. NRL enquiries are kangaroo courts, Sam Burgess was right and knew exactly what he was saying.

They have reacted, though. The show cause notice means they’ve decided he breached the conditions of his contract, it will take May to convince them he hasn’t. It’s effectively an appeal against a decision.

Sadly I don’t think your opening line is true. I suspect some of the players didn’t think it was a big deal.

Of course they do. But how long do you continue to persecute a person just to placate the witch hunters?

In his first podcast of 2019, Phil Gould expressed astonishment at just how widespread the practice of using a phone to film one's sex acts was, not just in NRL players, but in young people generally. And a fair percentage of them end up on Pornhub or such places. The trick is not to let that happen if you have a recognisable head.

He got loyalty from Penrith when most clubs would have sacked him on the spot. Since then we've had tik tok and now this.

I think its time for him to go.
Yet they allowed the first grade head coach to appear in court for him.

What about what Api did?

In State of Origin camp breaches the NRL Covid restrictions to cheat on his wife.

Pretty poor conduct or behaviour whatever you want to call it.

I know his actions weren’t criminal, his wife may differ, but pretty serious misconduct and probably much worse that an alcohol induced social media post gone wrong.

Filming ones sexual exploits is common place in today’s world. Not just restricted to the younger generation either. It’s just the world we live in, in most instances such activity is consensual.

I think it means, like you said, the club was supporting him.

Yes that is right. The club gave him support throughout the whole ordeal. Its history now but it would have been easy to punt him.

He has gotten himself in trouble twice since. The club doesn't owe him anything (To my knowledge...). Time to move on.
