Tyrone Peachey.... Best position?

What truly is Peacheys best position?

A major talent who after all these years is yet to settle on one position.

Spent the majority of 2017 at centre and started like a house on fire before fading away and ending the season in the backrow.

In terms of players in each position and what the Panthers currently have:

C: Whare & Blake
SR: Yeo, CHN, Cartwright, JFH & Kikau

Personally, I have him in the centres ahead of Blake purely as the backrow is full of talent.

This, Blake has found his feet and can't be left out. It's a hard one, because if Whare is in form, you can't leave him out either - Personally, I'd have him as the utility off the bench, get him on when the opposition is tired and watch him run amok.

Now Latu is gone. I'd go RCG bench for him. Merrin prop. Peachey either lock or 2nd row. Bryce in the other position.

Allows us to play May etc too we need all the strike players we can get

Blake needs to be first centre picked. Hes the best right centre at the club.

Peachey and Whare fight for left centre. Whare to reserves or Peachey to bench depending who hets starting spot. Whare played left for NZ so hopefully the coach has that in mind too.

Hard to imagine Peachey staying if he is stuck here solely as a utility. He's better than that and his form never was as consistent as a utility.

Like Cartwright his career is held back by not being given a position to focus on and develop in.

You've hit the nail right on the head. One of either Cartwright and Peachey need to go. And it wouldn't surprise if it was before the start of the season the way the movements are happening at current times.

Its just hard to see how u fit Peachey and Bryce in the 17 together every week when everyone else is fit. Bryce would have to be holding down a starting spot while peach is the bench utility. We need our forwards to be dominant and making offloads to get the best out of peachey coming off the bench and causing havoc.

When RCG gets his payrise 3 out of our top 4 high paid players will be forwards.. Best they start earning it

I think the best paid players at any club should be your Halves, then either your fullback if you have a good one or Hooker if you have someone like Smith.
I would have the forwards the next rung down.

I don't disagree. That is why are in the situation we are being good at times but lacking the polish of the top teams

Centre but I think backrow soon. Will Chambers showed how a good centre can show him up.

The storm have done that to Michael Jennings more than once. That would of been a team plan from IMO.

Looking at his form and performances his best position is clearly centre, I don't see that as up in the air at all, he has never performed better playing any other position as he consistently does at centre. Leave him there and hope he can develop a passing game and you have a top tier centre.

The real question is what is his best position for the team?

I honestly think he's only good as a centre for us. May would be a better utility IMO. But obviously his injury sets him back and he might not be right until mid-season.

If Peachey cant hold onto centre. I think its best for us both if he leaves.

Yeah I agree, he could be a utility but I think if we move him to that role he wont be at the club very long.
