Every once and a while Roberts can pull out a brilliant game and even become a match winner. Problem is those games are waaaaay too few and far in between and he doesn't have enough skills (e.g. Kicking, passing, etc) to justify being in the side in the majority of weeks. He's certainly a runner not a playmaker. I've seen him tear teams to shreds before but it's usually from his running. He's a very instinctive and often dangerous individual player but he really struggles to play as part of a team consistently and league is a team game.

I think he'd go okay in England but he simply doesn't have it in him to be a regularly starting halfback in the NRL. That's a shame because he can be good to watch on the few occasions he's "on"...I'd much prefer to watch him play for another side though so we don't have to worry about him in the other 95% of games when he's poor.

If you think he is not consistent enough to be a regular half in the NRL why alleadgedly are Titans after him and has Tyrone indicated he would sign for Leeds?

The Titans are desperate. They just had DCE backflip on a deal he'd signed with them and they lost Sezer because they thought they were signing DCE. They land DCE or keep Sezer and they don't even express interest in Roberts. Also they already have a good young halfback at the Titans so Roberts would be able to take a more second receiver role there.

And haven't heard Roberts say anything re Leeds or anything really.

Why was sean rudder signed to play in england when he wasnt of first grade standard? Roberts is a better player than rudder was. Some clubs just feel that they can improve a player. It doesnt always work out that way.

He does have another year on his contract but the Knights are trying to free up some money to make a few new signings for next year, so it looks like Tyrone will be released early if we can sign Hodkinson.

Apparently Leeds approached the Knights about releasing Tyrone a month or two ago but we turned it down at the time. Not sure if the offer is still on the table. Based on what I've been reading I think it's more likely that he'll go to the Titans unfortunately.

Thanks for your comments. I think Tyrone woul like playing in SL. And would improve Leeds. If we have not signed him already I hope we sign him before Titans?

Have never seen a poster so obsessed about one player, and continued questions on who is going to Leeds.

Tyrone Roberts will be at Leeds next year. 100% guaranteed. My missus is from England, and she said there's been people on her Facebook feed raving on and on about Tyrone signing a 4 year deal with Leeds.

Apparently it's a player swap...Roberts for cuthbertson

Roberts would be good off the bench as a backup hooker. He needs to play to his strengths which is a running game which he can do from hooker after 30 mins when the opposition becomes fatigued.

He needs to realise he is not a half where there are a whole range of skills that he does not possess.

That's a magical swap if true.

I'm feeling lots of hate @ Fred right now. Lots of hate and anger built from broken promises and dreams.

Cuthbo left so he could play for England plus the money. He is the best prop in that comp and gets better with age. He will be 33 when his Leeds deal is done. I hope we give him two years here to finish.

Problem is would you pay 300-400k for a bench utility?

yes I would 300k

If the interchange rules kick in, bench utilities will be a lot less valuable. In any case I don't see anything to suggest he'd make a better hooker/bench utility than Randell or Levi who are on a fraction of the money and aren't petulant sooks

I think Randell will be our bench utility for many years to come. Levi will be our primary hooker and the club will move Clydesdale on. No room for Roberts I'm afraid.

I think I must be the only one that sees absolutely nothing in Randall. I want to see him go well because he seems like a good guy who's been really loyal to the club but skill wise I think he's average at best.
