Every once and a while Roberts can pull out a brilliant game and even become a match winner. Problem is those games are waaaaay too few and far in between and he doesn't have enough skills (e.g. Kicking, passing, etc) to justify being in the side in the majority of weeks. He's certainly a runner not a playmaker. I've seen him tear teams to shreds before but it's usually from his running. He's a very instinctive and often dangerous individual player but he really struggles to play as part of a team consistently and league is a team game.
I think he'd go okay in England but he simply doesn't have it in him to be a regularly starting halfback in the NRL. That's a shame because he can be good to watch on the few occasions he's "on"...I'd much prefer to watch him play for another side though so we don't have to worry about him in the other 95% of games when he's poor.
