Are you implying that I like rap? My favourite bands are Smashing Pumpkins and A Perfect Circle. And just to answer your question:

I couln't care less whether you think they are over-rated. They are centainly not over-rated by the masses, considered what bands they were "up-against" in their era -- Nirvana, Pearl Jam, RHCP etc...

the reason why i said it is because i always hear people say <insert band name here> is the best in the world, while others say a totally different band is the best. I know that people say that because it's there fave band, but i would like to know, what makes a band the best in the world?

If you want to see U2 showing what they can do, watch Live Aid.

IMO it is only Queen that perform better and it was pre Joshua Tree before U2s massive rise to fame.

I am not really disputing your points, I would rather listen to U2 myself than 90's of other rock bands your hear on the radio.

They are nothing new and terribly over-rated.

It was watching that movie of their concert that hooked me for life.
