are you sure about that!? Their goal diff is nowhere near that of chelsea and valencia, and the they have had a loss and a win with both teams so that cancels out the head to head factor... If they lose to Genk and Chelsea/Valencia is a draw, they're gone...

Valencia needs a draw to advance ahead of Chelsea, but because the tie-breaker is head-to-head 0-0 won't be sufficient, so we gotta score at least one goal (if we match the 1-1 of the first game then we'll go through on superior goal difference).

Anyway, real chance for Chelsea, Man Poo and Man City to all be knocked out on the final match day. Would be awesome if they all fell down, and even more hilarious if crisis club Arsenal were the only team left flying the flag for the EPL.

Yeah, and it's worked out better for us that Leverkusen won because if they'd drawn or lost we'd need to beat Chelsea to outdo them on points, and despite Genk drawing their previous two home games I just can't see them holding Leverkusen with nothing left to play for.

Arsenal the first English team through to the next round, finishing first.

City, Chelsea and United all in trouble.

Who would have thought?

We were sure to qualify for the last 16 for a while now so the much more important thing was securing the group win to avoid the likes of Barca first up and to get a valuable resting game. We'd be favourites to make the last 8 now.

And how awesome would a Chelsea v City europa league final be...

I think this will be a VERY close match, in fact, too close to call. You have to remember that Napoli at home and Napoli away are almost like two completely different teams. I can see both of the last two matches in the group being draws...

My thoughts exactly.

It'll be a weird feeling not being drawn against Barcelona. We could have gone three years in a row.:?

there could be trouble at tonight's Europa League match between Tottenham vs PAOK, if these reports are true. For those of you who don't know, PAOK fans are arguably the biggest scumbag thugs in Europe...

With Spurs currently on a 10-match unbeaten run that has seen them climb to third in the Premier League, Redknapp has been loath to rotate his squad, although Wednesday's Europa League clash with PAOK Salonika will be a rare exception. Vedran Corluka this week joined Sebastien Bassong, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Heurelho Gomes in declaring his wish to leave White Hart Lane in January due to limited first-team chances, while Jermain Defoe has been linked with a move to QPR after falling behind Emmanuel Adebayor in the pecking order. But with two-thirds of the season remaining and the club fighting for silverware in three competitions, Redknapp is reluctant to deplete his squad. "It's difficult because the players want to play. You won't keep them happy [if they're not]. You just hope you can convince them [to stay]," Redknapp said. "You want to keep them happy and onside. We need them. We're going to need a big squad and unless you can get a replacement, you can't afford to let people go. "We need that strength in depth, especially if we stay in Europa League." While Spurs' league form has seen them rocket to within two points of second-placed Manchester United, their Europa League campaign has stuttered slightly. A 1-0 defeat at Rubin Kazan saw the London club drop to third in Group A, but they could return to the summit if they beat PAOK at White Hart Lane, and could go through as winners if they also win against Shamrock Rovers next month. Redknapp wants his team to regain the initiative with a victory against the Greeks, but admits that he will stick to his policy of turning to youngsters like Jake Livermore, Harry Kane and Tom Carroll to do the job. "Tomorrow is a must-win game. We are a point behind PAOK. You can see Rubin beating Shamrock, so we need to win," Redknapp said. "We don't want to go to the last game because Rubin could rest players for last game and they will have already qualified. "But that doesn't change what team I'd put out. I'd have made 11 changes to the team but Pavlyuchenko tweaked his knee yesterday quite badly, so Jermain Defoe might have to play." Goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has spent the vast majority of his time at Spurs on the bench, but he is likely to start Wednesday's game after starring in Kazan. The Italian, who won two league titles at Chelsea, has been impressed with Spurs' recent league form, but has warned that the club must not lose their focus if they are to claim the top-four spot that escaped them last term. "This team has everything to be special but there's still a long way to go," the 38-year-old said. "Since I've been here the Christmas period is very important. You have many games in a short space and you have to try to get the most out of it. "For this club it's very important to finish in top four. To be in the top four for this club is very important. "We experienced what it meant to be part of Champions League campaign last year and we want to get it back again. That's the main target." Spurs are expecting a crowd of between 25,000 and 30,000 for Wednesday's game despite stopping ticket sales on Monday evening. The club stopped sales on the advice of safety advisors after it was feared PAOK fans had started to buy tickets in the home stands after selling out their away allocation. Around 3,000 PAOK supporters without tickets are thought to have travelled to London.

Following a meeting of the Safety Advisory Group today the decision has been taken to close the sales of tickets for this Wednesday's Europa League match against PAOK from 5pm on Monday. The Safety Advisory Group (SAG) is made up of key Club personnel as well as representatives from the Metropolitan Police, London Borough of Haringey and the other emergency services. This decision has been made to ensure the safety and comfort of those fans who have already purchased tickets for the match and to maintain the appropriate segregation within the stadium. Supporters who have not purchased a ticket for this fixture will not be able to do so at this stage and no tickets will be available from the Stadium on the day of the match. We do apologise for any disappointment this decision causes.

Spurs got one back, considering the team we have put on the pitch we should be doing better

also, there are several Tottenham players who are worth more than the entire PAOK roster....

PAOK down to 10 men, if they can hold on for a draw that would be great...

Greek football back on the rise?

I had to laugh that Fergie is letting FCB use the carrington training facilities for our match v City. The match shouldn't matter because Napoli should be getting the job done in Spain.

Hahaha SAF is such a troll.

Maybe he's trying to apologize for his "Typical Germans" statement he made after you guys knocked them out a couple of years ago.

haha, no chance. They are the kings of inconsistency. Their next match will most likely be a loss to an 8th division Greek club. A few seasons ago, Panathinaikos beat Inter in Milan, then came back and lost at home to a relegation-zone team.

Anyway, I've watched over 100 full matches this season and that was one of the best (even if I am a bit biased). It also reminded me a bit of the Greece/Euro 2004 scenario. I haven't looked at any figures, but I'm pretty sure Modric alone would be worth more than the entire PAOK team... And in '04, Figo was worth (by a ridiculous amount) more than the whole Greek team.

It was a great effort, especially playing 60 minutes with only 10 men...

We always do it for Cities opponents in Europe. They do it for ours. Its always been the case.

FCB are not special, get over it.
