Notice the usa are playing two games in qld feb 2005,this has to be a stepup for the tourists and they will probably need their strongest side to have any chance of coming close .After their recent success in philly can they get a decent crowd for these matches and take their tour to a higher level ???

Last tour they had some game time against Canberra and Tonga - they got thrashed - but they won't be stepping up in class from that level.
I think they are on the right path by playing sides that are too good for them. If they just wanted to see their own level, they might as well stay in America and play against each other.
The trip over to get a look at much better opposition each year has moved them ahead very quickly IMO.

The MRLA put forward the opporunity for a Malta V USA fixture.
The USA won't be coming to Sydney and Malta will now make alternate arrangements.
The USA and MALTA would provide for an entertaining fixture as the standard would be very much more alike rather than that of the match last Wednesday.
