Gallop is talkin through his butt crack again.
Nine use to show Storm games in Melbourne regularly on Sunday afternoons. Why can't they do that now? Its not prime time Friday.
Use less bastards.

So did Melbourne RL fans enjoy waking up at 4.30am this morning to watch Friday night NRL?

That is pathetic.

Why not promote the game a few times on Channel 9 in Melb and show it at 9.30-10pm? This is the perfect Storm game to promote in Melb.

Worst part of the late night replay is every try is followed by a full ad break so the game goes atleast 15 minutes overtime, not good for taping

What a muppet!

All I want is a CEO for the game that shows some spine in the best interests of the game. Making these media companies that rape our game to feather their own nests hold up their end of signed contract conditions would just be the start... and yet too much to expect?

Gallop is a News Ltd puppet, he makes no decisions himself - it's not exactly news to anyone. It was when he was first appointed. Whilst a media company owns the game and appoints the CEO that is the kind of CEO you will get.

Don't think Sydney people realise how damaging this is to the game on a National level. Whilst not many people may tune into the FTA coverage of the AFL in NSW and Q'land it is on and people flicking see it every week. One of the reasons RL has such a low profile outside of the heartlands and why 1/2 of Australia don't know the difference between the Wallabies and the Kangaroos!

Waiting game

MELBOURNE always claims to be Australia's sporting capital. Well, tell that to the city's rugby league fans, who'll have to sit through ancient movies on Channel 9 before seeing the Melbourne Storm take the field.

Then again, perhaps rugby league has to run that late in Melbourne due to adult-rated tackling, which is slightly more aggressive than AFL followers are used to.

However, Nine's telecast of last night's St George Illawarra versus Titans match was due to begin at 1.10am, following the movie Election, a flick about a girl bribing classmates with muffins to be elected school captain. The after-midnight start is in breach of the existing NRL contract, which says Nine must televise games in Melbourne before midnight.
