Nothing will change much next year, Hunt and Grahame wont help, It all starts from the top, James Demitriou would have been Ideal but no we let him go.
As long Doust and co keep having a say in our club we are going nowhere .
Mary Did his best but first grade is out of hes League , he should Not be there end of story.
I know we have great stats but that count for nothing.
Our team looked lost, we should been tuned in to this game to give it a red hot crack and showed up with this garbage performance, that will do me,
Now back to my Vodka

"James Demitriou would have been Ideal"

No, played with Jason in junior league. The half wasn't even good enough to make the school team. Great bloke, great parties, but no more rookie coaches

Well that would be illawarra, thought that would have been pretty clear by me saying I have an illawarra team to support.
But you said you don't support St George.

Here's the thing, if you support the joint venture, as you claim, then that includes you supporting St George. Logic?

Clutching at straws a bit Willow, setting this up on the basis of wordplay.

I thought you were asking if I supported a team that goes by the name of St George only, because I don't know of one that currently exists.

There is a St George illawarra dragons joint venture team that I support in first grade. I support the team as a whole, I don't buy into the "illawarra/st George blame game
And there's an illawarra team currently in reserves that I support. When they become St George illawarra reserves I will support them.

When there is a standalone St George team, ask me the same question then.

You are sadly mistaken. You do not understand the terms on the JV.

Dunno James, Jason was good though.

Jokes aside, halfway decent players make better coaches than superstars, who remembers what sort player Bellemy was?

No I don't know about the technicalities of the joint venture agreement. Nor would 99% of supporters.
But if trying to make someone look inferior or any less of a supporter by having an intricate knowledge of something makes you feel better, then knock yourself out.

Seriously? Self deprecation is a poor counter argument. And claims of ignorance is a worse counter argument.

I'm happy to cut to the chase...

If you support St George Illawarra then by definition that support comes from your supporter base. I support St George. You support Illawarra. If you are part of the joint venture, then you support both.

Originally we were told we would retain the Red V jersey and our history, and our kindred spirits in the Illlawarra were keen to embrace this heritage.

But like most marriages there will be disagreements and we're fated to deal with that. Politics intervened. IMO, the Illawarra connection has created an acceptance of mediocrity, or as a friend recently said to me, "an aspiration to mediocrity"... which of course is even worse than I imagined years ago.

I wish Illawarra the best. As Graeme Langlands - one of Wollongong's favourite sons - once said, "the Illawarra is a great backyard for St George."

We are all disappointed.

The team was slow to start but did get into the groove second half.

It can be a fickle game. If Josh Dugan had been able to hold rather than roll on that crucial under the post no try when held up by Hoppa then I think we would have gone on and won it.

Kurt Mann was not effective today. His tackling was strong but McCrone runs straighter and passes a little better timed.

Matt Dufty went ok. Nice backup for try. Safe under high ball.

Tim Lafai actually played well. Everyone on his back for trying that miracle offload when the game only had a few minutes left and we had to do something a bit freakish to get down field with a few attacks still available in the 6 count. He tackled one on one effectively, picked the correct inside alley for Dufty last pass and timed Nightie's pass for his try nicely.

The Dogs are in form and got us in the end.
