Ya know, id actually be keepin the side settled until we avoid the furging spoon at this stage. I know the season has gone as far as finals are concerned but if they are serious about avoiding the spoon they need to keep the best on the paddock. Just my view and i completely understand the blood players biso. Lets not do it willy fugging nilly though.
Under nearly every circumstance, we should have the best team on the paddock.
I want change as much as the next person when I see Ayshford concede try after try, game after game, or Wright play the worst game i've seen a back play (until his next game) stuck on the wing for months. It doesn't seem we have our best team on the paddock in such moments.
And if Holmes is good enough in lower grades, he will get an opportunity when form or injury mean there is a spot in firsts. And if that spot is a bench spot because no one is in really good form from the bench and he can be useful from the bench, that is fine too.
But I would never want to see a team run out that isn't the best one we can play at that moment (though I have, plenty of times). Only if there are marginal calls and it is not obvious someone in the present squad would be better than someone else should you "risk" a young player, if they are ready, in form, and the match isn't high pressure (or there is no other choice).
