I remember the article from the Club after we agreed to his release saying something about if he came back in 2019 he’d have to come back to us or have us allow him to play somewhere else.

We should have made him agree to us being the first option if he ever came back to the NRL not just in 2019.

Rather see Val play for the Jets than the Cows...I hold no grudge towards him...was only going to be here for '19 anyway. SJ is a great swap imo. If Val keeps to his guns and plays here this year...SJ goes elsewhere.

At this point Valentine is signed with the Jets as part of the official off season squad. There are only so many on that list.

Val via Nike is one of seven on this path, three already cut. The other 3 at different clubs.

The four that made it have every chance to make the 53 final roster at the respective clubs. If so the contract changes.

These four are the only ones guaranteed a spot in the practice squad should they not make 53.

The other players in the off season squad who do not make the 53 will go to the practice squad or will be cut altogether.

So Val has a leg up your average American will not get along with the Union guy, MMA fighter.

Whether he stays if not in the 53 and only the practice squad remains to be seen.

He has a few months now to impress the Jets QB and coaches, marketing will be cheering for them and the NFL, they want these blokes to succeed.

BTW look at the Jets roster (WR), Val is not the smallest or biggest, few blokes same size, same age. Physically he is not out of place.

I don’t think he will make it in the NFL Not through ability but the amount of competition he has to rise above.
The practice squad will only go for 5 months then he will be cut, from then he can be a free agent or back to the NRL.
