Since when were Faith No More, Korn, Slipknot, Alice in Chains, System of a Down and Public Enemy metal and since when was there anything great about Slipknot, Korn and System of a Down?

I'm not the hugest metal fan anymore (those days are behind me) but I am absolutely puzzled as to how Pantera couldn't get a look-in for a top ten spot. sh*t, they should've been pushing for top 5 imo - a great metal band in all facets.

Agreed - Mouth for War should have been the number 2 song behind Iron Man.

Best Metal band since Sabbath.

Freak on a leash???

In there, still I would have thought The Trooper and Aces High would have been worth a run.

Public Enemy

Yeah, but Public Enemy were only mentioned for their collaboration song with Anthrax, which was most certainly a metal song, or have you not heard it?

Yeah I know it was just exaggerating my point.

Should have included Manson on my list though - not metal.

I think that they were simply struggling to find 40 great metal songs, so they coloured in the list with a bunch of other stuff.

It is a pretty research-less list, seeing as some of the songs they chose by "reputable" metal acts are more like melodic pop-rock. Ronnie James Dio claiming to be the King of Heavy Metal, complete with inventing the "metal horns" 2-fingered-salute, and here he is singing a song that sounds like it was recorded by Heart or Starship, whilst parading around wearing pastel purple ankle high boots.

Has anyone actually heard Thunderkiss '65 by White Zombie? (#32)

It is pretty much a dance track.

Not really. I'd say it was hard rock rather than metal.
