If Penrith can spring an upset against the Tigers tonight, a win tomorrow would see us equal 8th. Just sayin...

At this time of year when footy fans bring other teams into the calculations it's a sure sign things are bad .. Just sayin...

If clueless fossils log onto the web purely to bag the team he/she follows, you wonder what the point is. Just sayin...

I'm yet to work out your purpose here, you add very little. You're that type who disowns the club when they're down, yet is that fat bloke telling everyone how long he's been a Dragons fan when we win something.

Anyway, you've posted in Red for long enough, how about doing us all a favour, and posting using the Dragons other colour from now on.

When and if you actually ever get involved in the club as in doing something you know like voting in elections or working with the club in some capacity thats other than bagging guys like Possm , BBC and others give me a call ..

Perhaps you sould go back to England and teach them the mystery of soap ..

Morris on left outside coops & Flo like a rock @ the back was always the correct (and *very* long overdue) move, if you think we have the combination to score points with this current combination (even disregarding Flo's issues in left wing defence), then im seriously concerned!

I'm exactly the same, I don't read media comments they make, only when I come across it such as the ones mentioned in the OP.

I just believe our players should not be talking to the media when we are in situations that we currently find ourselves in.

you're not the only one - it's what Ricky Stuart did after Origin 1!

is it worth not doing media and then having to rip thousands of dollars out of your footy club to pay the fines?

which would be worse - losing resources as a footy club, or losing 20 minutes of your time?

there's also the fact that teams get slammed more by the press when they don't let journos watch training or interview players after the game - journos have to do their job and if they can't get a story from the players, they still have to write SOMETHING. so the players still have to read and be distracted by people ripping into them regardless.

Soward in doubt for game. Is that right

cramps in his back this morning at the Captain's run ... had to lie on his back for a while then the trainers checked it out.

he seemed fine afterwards (paging dr sassy) but they'll have to clear him tomorrow to play

no offence to you, but f**k journos.

it's time players and clubs stood up and dictated terms not the other way round. most of the time they look for a sound bite to use to sell papers/ads or whatever other shit they peddle..

hopefully somebody understands this when negotiating the new tv deal..

I'm not offended! but I do think if there was no requirement for clubs to do media and they didn't do interviews all week, the media would still write about 'em.

nrl sells papers whether the players do interviews or not, and negative stories sell more papers.

don't talk = they'll still talk about you. the only difference is the quotes will all be from "sources at the club" or "former league great so-and-so" and "league analyst blah blah from this paper".

I understand that sass and I agree there should be contact, but the contact should be dictated by the players and clubs.

For example, if the club does not want to give statements or interviews a certain week, they shouldn't have to and the journos shouldn't write up negative shit because of it.

IMO, that's a big issue with the media and a reason why they are considered so untrustworthy by the public. If you decide to rock the boat, they'll just go after you. It's blackmail of sorts, but a reality we are forced to accept.

Of course we need the press. But at the end of the day, we follow the game to watch our team play. Try telling that to the more arrogant sections of the media and they'll laugh at you.

It needs to be kept in check imo. If you want to look into how far they can go, you only have to say two words: phone hacking. But I digress.

This is not a shot at you sass. I know LU has always supported yourself and Kiki; and personally I think it's great to see you posting here. Some excellent insight there and it's good to read some facts.

Yea TheRev, you have been suggesting this combination for a while. So tomorrow it is your turn in the sun and I really hope it works because we haven't many chances left; we really need to win this one.

In my opinion the only trouble with your combo of;
1. Nightingale
2. Morris
5. Vidot
is that Nightingale would be the stronger option on the right wing. We really can't afford for Vidot to drop the ball or miss a tackle or give away a stupid penalty.

There will be little point in trying my preferred option if we lose;
1. Goodwin or Cummins
2. Morris
5. Nightingale
because there will be very little chance left to make the eight. The only way Price might consider this option is if Vidot puts in a really bad effort. I really hope he puts in a five star performance.

I have a belief that modern Footy teams are a bit like modern computers ,when they screw up you hit the restore button and go back to when they were working well . So I think that you put Morris and Nightingale back to the wings because thats their correct positions , It's not for them to fix other problems .
How it's surposed to work in a functioning front office is 1 you buy players for the positions that need fixing and 2 Players step up in those positions and take ownership of said positions . Since this is not happening you restore back to the club front office and buy a working version of Windows and replace.

I like this analogy Father Ted.
