Yes legend it should be a cracker, crowd capacity of 4.5 million, sold out last year did lightyear stadium. Should be a good'in.

Shaun Berrigan, Craig Gower & Josh Hannay . Pretty happy with those 3.

This is an enhanced version of the original recruitment system used in Virtual NRL in the past. In this system you recruit players based on their assigned value. That amount is deducted from your salary cap.

The system has been enhanced to be fairer for all teams by not allowing any recruitment until no less than 7 hours after the last team registers for the league. Then over the first 48 hours teams can recruit up to 3 players per day, so that by the end of the 48 hour period teams have no more than 6 players. After the 48 hour period players can be recruited with no restrictions beyond the rules in place for every Virtual NRL squad.


Recruiting A Player

Recruiting a player is dead easy. Simply click the Squad button on your team toolbar. If recruitment has opened you will have a section for your current squad and a section with your squad summary outlining your players in which position and salary cap details. You will also have several links/buttons to the Recruit section, which pops up the player search form in a separate window.

Use this form to find players you wish to recruit. When listed, each player's value will be shown with a checkbox alongside on the right. Click the checkbox of the player(s) you want from the list and click Recruit. The players will be added to your squad if they do not break any of the rules. The result of each attempted recruitment will be displayed at the top of screen. Your squad details and list will update in the background. When you click Close on the search window, you will return to your squad page.


Recruitment Deadline

You are not able to recruit players after the competition is more than 75% complete (including finals). So, if you are in a 22-round competition with 4 weeks of finals, you will not be able to change your squad after round 19

Having now been through the recruiting process by all 3 methods

- straight recruitment
- bidding war
- live draft

I must say imho that straight recruitment is the least fair of the 3, providing all are able to attend a "live draft" at its given timeslot

I got in pretty early grabbing my first 3 players for this comp, but some have not .... the last person to make their selections within the first 24 hours is at a severe disadvantage - let alone if somebody doesn't pick at all in the first 24 hours

there simply aren't enough quality kickers to go around as well as a few other minor anomalies in the various positions

also it seems the salary cap was raised (or set) to $4 million for this competition .... which makes it even worse as the extra funds will leave even less quality players for the recruiting stragglers

last night I participated in a live draft .... picked 10 quality players and then seriously struggled to find another 10 (minimum 20 players per squad) to provide depth to all positions and staying under the cap .... this would have no doubt freed up a few quality players for others to recruit as in the end I "cut" 2 players I had just drafted (supposedly in my top 10)

bidding war seems reasonably fair to all participants providing all use the 48 hour recruitment period - albeit difficult juggling your squad and salary cap as others bump up the prices on your selected players

Cyclones, Broke and Breakers are now behind due to lack of recruitment

hey don't get me wrong - i think its a really fun and well organised game and look forward to kicking everybody's butt, but I'd like to do it on a level playing field by the same token

It's the fairest way, spreads the talent around. Pity though cos the bidding war is piss funny. The thread in LWOS for The Cliff Richard Cup was great fun.

Have to admit I was looking forward to it, I thought I'd come into work today to see what everyone was bidding on and stir the pot a bit. Oh well, I'll try and make the best of a bad situation, in our office comp I drew 7 of 8 in our draw to select players (we have it so it goes 1-8 to pick first, 8-1 picks second and so on to make sure everyone has a decent team)

I dont really know what I am doing. My girlfriend was sick last night after I got home and I was at the Hospital until 2am and when I got home I was just way to tired. So I just logged on then and got 3 players. How long do I have to wait until I can get more? If I started recruiting last night does that mean I would have been able to get more players by now?

Here we go, now it's a bidding war as coxy has fixed it up for all affected comps. But the bidding time doesn't reset so we only have another 24hours to go, make sure you start bidding!!!!!

Lets just say I bid $100 000 for a player for eg. then someone outbids me for that player, then does that 100000k appear back in my bank balance? Or what is the go there?
