This game sucks and there are two main things I don't like about it. One is if you sell someone it says once the sale is complete you can't recruit them again. WTF?????

The other is choosing your bench. We should have sole control over the selection of players. I have a surplus of forwards who are playing each week but I have to choose two backs on the interchange bench and I always come up a player short. It's a rort and I am fast losing interest. I mean, how many team go with two backs on the bench as opposed to three forwards or even four.

That's true but backs score more points than forwards. Why would you want four forwards???

So you think I should play with only sixteen players? The other problem is the goalkicking issue. I have Kimmorley as my halfback but last week Bird took all the shots at goal for the Sharks which means I am getting rorted again by only having one goalkicker in the side.

Now I've lost Simpson and I play Moffo's team and I am certain to cop a 60 point hammering now that my best forward is out.

El, i'd also rather take a chance that a forward can score a try than not have anyone there at all. At least with 17 players I've still got a slim chance of any player scoring points.

Another problem I have just come across is Phil Bailey is playing in the centres this week which means I now have Jaiman Lowe out of the squad because Bailey is classified as a forward and I can't bring Lowe onto the bench. There is no flexibility with this comp and after five rounds, I'm gooooooooooooooooooooooorn.

What do I do with Simpson? He is a great player but if I cut him for six weeks I can't get him back.

When I selected my team I got the two cheapest props I could find - both 25grand each and neither of whom have played a game this year, I figured that I'm better off spending my money on quality backs than forwards who might score one or two trys a game

the 'forward try' option gives you some way to make money out of forwards but its very rare and still worth a max of 4 points a game - the only one of my forwards to manage it was darren senter and i picked him not for that reason but because a) he's cheap and b) he also has a much higher try scoring ability than most people realise, mostly because he's always sniffing around for an intercept or charge down.

My side is VERY light on forwards, I've started each round with no props and only senter, galea, riddell (plus craig wing if i play him as hooker and anasta when he gets back from injury) for other forwards, but it meant i had plenty of money to play with bidding for top quality backs which is what gives you the points, I'm yet to lose even last week with 6 empty spots and no goalkicker so i've gotta be doing something right

Fair enough Brook but I'm still losing out on Bailey. If he was classified as a utility I would be sweet but I have just made some adjustments and if the Sharks can go alright, I should be able to give Moffo a good run with my new look side.

Having Wesser is a head start most weeks, same with Vagana.

I read the rules closely in VNRL before I started, it is the first time I've had a go at it and after reading the rules, I decided that if the comp was reasonably even, picking forwards withforward try potential was the go. But back that up with solid backs, guys who scored around 10 tries last season and maybe one of the top four or five try scorers from last season. I got Luke Lewis. lol

The odd "inspired buy" like buying Craig Hall for last week's game and he scores three tries helps.

So, in order to go well, I need every game to be a low scoring dogfight, pouring rain every weekend would help.

It aint happening.
