Volkman & Allan gone

The way they spent like drunken sailors, BJ and Mary would probably have cut him a cheque for $100k and driven him off to a Macquarie St specialist.

Don’t get the chance to praise Webby too often but he shut his eyes and pulled the trigger.

A killing off of yet another scrounger at the door of your club trying to blame you and rip you off, media in tow.

Good decision, held the line, well done.

So about a week ago the Warriors CEO said Volkman not their problem any more. A week later they are paying for his surgery. Media now writing it up as some goodwill gesture by the Warriors. I would suggest legal advice would indicate that the Warriors had the legal responsibility rather than the Dragon's so that's why they have now come to the party rather than the goodness of their heart given their original stance.

Glad our club stood its ground and wasn't bullied by the media, RPLA or the Warriors. We were sold a lemon and simply refused to pay as it was damaged goods and not fit for purpose.

Great read,
I’ve never seen that.
Thanks @getsmarty
It was a good long one too.

We listened to the album at my sisters soon after he passed away.

If you watched a tv show about homes around the world with no sound, you’d only be recognise the Aussie one by spotting the corner of his album peeking out from under the dusty cd cabinet.

He was unique, amazing and all uplifting synonyms.

He loved our country.

I don’t think so Silverdale. I think he has played a bit of centre though.
Cheers, I was trying to find a pathway for Nofo because he’s desperate and marked down for a quick sale and you might be able to pick him up for twilight prices at a garage sale.

He’s been troublesome off the park -but it’s personnel related and you don’t present with the same workplace problems ( from his perspective).

Hes was playing with the storm recently, that’s no mean feat.

Give him a second chance under Flannos Rehab and half way house policy ( re sharks).

He’s not a bad guy, just very troubled with his situation.

A scan and a psychological report to see what’s eating him up and whether Flanno can work his magic.

:) I’m not sold on Nofo. But he has torn us up a few times.

Yep correct. He was injured during his employment at the warriors. They have failed to adequately provide him with medical care. IE hanging off screws and lack of follow up scans. At best.
his manager should have organised a follow up scan
the guy wouid be in pain if there are screw’s hanging loose in his arm
he also wouldn’t be passing so great
someone knew something
lesson learnt don’t let them train till medical cleared.
so dodgy . We let him train in good faith. Wonder if someone not sure who was hoping they could pin the injury on us from trainning? Or thought we wouldn’t notice?
he had 2 years left on his contract. Suddenly he wants to break it and come to us who everyone is rejecting.
it’s so insulting. We get pushed around and treated poorly too much and this is just one example.

Volkman set to earn NRL lifeline after Dragons saga

All good but hes got a whiff of the dodgy about him now.

I appreciate getting injured wasnt his fault but he should have rung the club and disclosed the serious nature of his injuries before he jumped on the flight. You can’t hide this kind of thing.

Turning up and not being able to pass the ball properly, pretty rude shock for Flanno.

I think the suspended fine, well it’s not really a fair dinkum penalty because I don’t think the nrl wanted a legal fight on its hands. The club quick to raise its hand.

Its got the stench of a deal.

You buy a player on the assumption he can play. You don’t buy an injured player!

He’s been a bit too big on the victim hood stuff. Clubs don’t like that. Workers comp makes them very nervous.

None of it made sense to me at the time. Still doesn't.
Yeah, it’s got that “fog of signings” theme about it as so many of these things do.

I’m thinking the NRL could have its own independent doctors and players being transferred could be vetted before any contract is signed.

Im not a doctor but the discovery of anything potentially harmful at an early stage is good for everyone.

There would be a lot players denying or playing down injuries publicly as it could threaten their career etc.

Coaches comments are always optimistic after matches to keep everyone guessing.

Young mate might have broken a leg in six places and an nrl coach would say:

“ Hes having some scans, can’t say for sure but the early indications are that he should be right for next week”

I won’t get started on the horror of the CTE stuff. Too distressing.

SHARKS JOIN RACE TO SIGN PLAYMAKER AS COVER FOR STAR

The Sharks are reportedly eyeing former Warriors and Dragons halfback Ronald Volkman as cover should Daniel Atkinson leave the club. The Sharks locked up halfback Braydon Trindall with a three-year extension, which makes Atkinson’s future uncertain at the club. Cashed up NRL rivals could make a play for Atkinson and he may have to leave the Sharks to get a starting spot. Newscorp reported the Sharks have joined the Manly Sea Eagles and the Parramatta Eels in pursuit of Volkman. The 22-year-old has played five games for the Warriors and one Test for Samoa to date, but hasn’t played NRL since a failed bid to join the Dragons, who reneged on the deal due to a pre-existing injury.Volkman spent the entire 2024 season recovering from a shoulder injury that threatened his career, but is back and ready to resume playing. It is understood that Volkman will decide on his new home in the coming days as he attempts to secure a spot on a Top 30 roster. The Sharks were first linked with Volkman at the beginning of September, but interest in him had cooled before the 22-year-old met with the other two clubs.
