At the game but it was hard to judge individual performances, partly due to some libations, partly due to friends around me. The Warriors didn't perform disgracefully and are a top 8 team, there were some suspect calls made against ua but after the shame the Warriors supporters were jovial.
This was a potential wake up call bit Tomkins, Johnson & Townsend played well. Interested to know how TL went and were thete any injuries

Broncos won on the back of Warriors unforced errors….stupid offloads etc….play like we have been…we win.

Pretty poor performance from us I thought, particularly after the early lead we had. We played well enough to keep in touch, but the Broncos were also well off tonight and there to be beaten. Probably our most disappointing game since the Dragons (Rabbits game I guess, but that was always going to be a tough one).

The polish was just really missing tonight. Going to be tough next week, so a big shame - could have really kicked on away from the teams battling in the edge of the 8 with this one. Back into the thick of it now.

Entertaining game but we need to get clarification from the refs about our tackle technique. They seem to call held instantly even when the feet were on the ground and we were pushing them back. Even penalized us for it.

This. Referees seemed to have a hard on about us dragging the Broncos back in the tackle. We did that all game against the Eels and it wasnt a problem. Wheres the consistency from the NRL Referees? Agree with Wade Graham. NRL Referees continue to and always be the blight on the game. And why did we get a newbie ref for the game of the day?(according to Fox sports commentators) Because NRL chiefs never consider the Warriors "Game of the Day". Its all about their precious Aussie teams and they get the best refs...

Also, the turning point for me was the Hoffman tackle on Tompkins when he just had to dive over the line. 18-6. Broncos deflate. We probably go on to win. Instead they get down the other end on the back of the Hurrell Shoulder to the chin which was classic milking (but good on McCullough. he got a penalty)
And then our defence lets in 2 soft tries. We are down 16-12 and Broncos are back in it.

Johnson was terrible last night, probably let in about 16 points with his shocking defending. Bit of a shame seeing as he has improved on his D this year.

Johnson's worst game of the year.

Friend should have played more minutes tbh imo, the TL fan boys should be more patient. With a lot of possession in the first 10, I though Townsend and Friend were stellar... then the tide turned. Townsend and Mannering are developing a nice understanding on the fringe

If Nielsen has twice as many runs and metres as Hurrell, the team's not going well...

Many was good, and the pack went ok, held it's own at least - backline 1-7 was generally below par.

Agree on the consistency in the refs, but again to me we were trying to get away with murder in the ruck - after the held call I lot count of the number of times we kept driving in the tackle - given the talk of a noisy environment beforehand that seems a deliberate ploy...

As a kiwi, liked what I saw from Hoffman at #1

Here's an interesting comparison for Johnson.

Until this win, the Broncos had lost three in a row. Yet Ben Hunt keeps getting talked up as some golden god. He's obviously having great individual performances even when the team is struggling.

When was the last time you could say that about SJ? He looks great when the team is going guns, but when we have a tough one like last night he's never a standout player. Has he ever gotten points in a Warriors loss?

Hopefully he learns soon that these are the situations when we need him most to step up and control the game.

The amount of time we got caught out on the last tackle and didn't get a kick in or had a really sh*tty one was completely inexcusable. The one time Matulino got stuck with the ball on the fifth on our OWN 30 METRE line almost made me throw something at the TV.

Serously?

Most are unanimous that Johnson was poor...

Tomkins, mixed - he had 6-7 tackles to make, missed 3... cost us points... I see the good he does, but defensively he' remain's a big worry for mine

Johnson was awful, it was as bad as his Eels game to open the season.
Don't know what happened to him, hopefully its just a one-off.

I thought Tomkins went pretty good, he was a looming threat on attack and safe under the high ball.

He was never going to make some of those goal-line tackles, the ball carrier had too much momentum.
At least he was there to attempt a tackle, and he put a decent effort to try and deny Copley.

Johnson fluffed a lot of tackles which setup the plays, that was more worrying for me.

Leuluai was fine, didn't lose or gain anything from Friend.

Thats kinda the point. Why were the refs calling held so early halfway through dominate tackles? Yet no hold calls when 6 are pushing fusitua to the sideline?

Totally agree about the refs calling held early. I thought it was funny that Cory Parker was complaining to the refs that we keep pushing after they call held, when they call help a split second into the tackle. It's like the refs are trying to penalize aggressive defense.

Yep, falls back to the refs to be consistent - within games, and between games...

But we didn't seem to adapt to their calls in this game...

But overall, just seemed we were outplayed - a couple (notably Johnson and Fusitua) had very poor games, others were a little off...

The refs were pretty crap both ways, but it didn't have an influence on the score imo.
We lost fair and square

They kept driving because the tackle was still in motion (not stationary, no feet off the ground). Real question is why on earth were the referees calling held so quickly when the tackle was not complete? There must be something in the rules I am missing. Very hard to suddenly pull out of a dominate tackle in motion...

Fusitua was horrible. Johnson not much better. Henry was great except that one crucial missed tackle.

Amazing to see how structured and efficient we were in the first 15 minutes and as the game went on how rabble like we were for the most part. Both teams were shot by the end of the game. Credit to the broncos for maintaining great energy and line speed, especially in defence, plus they didn't make many mistakes.

We are not a top four team...not far off though...
