I've seen a fair bit of dickhead behaviour at Warriors games too, but I've never seen it directed at on field officials, and the difference is when it happens at our games it's generally at the big games where you get the blow-in fans, in my experience the Mt Smart faithful are a very well behaved bunch.
Last night the refs were being pelted with bottles from the members area as they walked up the tunnel. Not just regular fans but season members carrying on like that, pretty disgusting.

Yes, he probably is - but that was a terrible terrible miss in the circumstances, and I do think it took the wind out of our sails and gave them life...

Ivan missed them from that line, Maloney frequently hashed them from that line, only Michael Witt of the premier Warriors goal kickers was fluent from kicking it from there. And he did one thing differently to the others, generally he would take it back to outside the 20m line... say 23-25m. It requires the kicker to kick through the ball. I haven't seen Johnson's miss because I had to take a dump, but I knew as soon as the try was scored he'd miss - not because of the score, but he is really ordinary 10m in from the sidelines. I think the reason is they don't end up striking through the ball, they try to push the ball through the sticks and their weight is off a little bit.

I have far more confidence with SJ on the sideline.

I thought the whole '20th anniversary' game was a fizzer. Considering the circumstances, was it a small crowd?

This game needed to be the first game of the season.

NRL crowds are down to a 15-year low.

I think the cricket stole its thunder big time. Should've been a Friday night game IMO, would've suited Brisbane and recreated the original atmosphere better.

Maybe I'd had too many beers - but my recollection is it was much closer to the posts than 10m from the sideline...

Anyway, agree he's #1 goalkicker, just thought that try is converted and we win - simple

14k if I remember right..

So that would be pretty much bang on an average Mt Smart crowd. Obviously the cricket kept that extra 5-10 thousand away, even if the league was on at 1.30 and the cricket started at 4.30.

This and a few other things mentioned here already, such as the Sunday game instead of the Friday night.

I missed the pre-match ceremony, how did it go with all the past players? Who showed up? Was it any good?

On the plus side we copped as raw a deal from the refs in that game as the Dogs did today, and our players and fans didn't spit the funny like Graham and Klemmer, or throw bottles at the refs like their fans did.

I had the thoughts of welcome to the Warriors world people!
Was a fair call for attacking the kickers legs, deliberate or accidential its always a penalty.

Will be interesting to see the fall out for Graham, he should be out to a couple of weeks if they want to set an example for the way he spoke to the ref (probably incited the crowd as well) and a couple more for taking out the legs, that has Reynolds out for up to 4 months apparently.
