Seriously? In an error-riddled game only Manu made more errors than Wright. That includes 1 which was a try saving 'error' and another which was a ref mistake. And Manu still brought way more to the team... he would have had one or two tries if not for Kata starving him of the ball, made tons of metres despite the previously mentioned and didn't miss any tackles that I remember.

Wright was (bar one single moment in the game) awful.

Worst Warriors performance in years. Commentators commented on SJ's passing being hampered by injury. Maybe, but he was rubbish and most of the poor plays stemmed from his poor passing. Pretty sure he is trying but he is off form.

Everyone is commenting on Wright, he was ordinary, but so was every back. Manu had a shocker too. Kata was not good.

The forwards kept the Warriors in it. We have a good pack this year. TL and Mannering's tackling was unbelievable. TL stops blokes 3 times his size and hammers them.

The refs were appalling and deserve to go back to reserve grade.

I suspect we will not win another game until Tompkins gets back.

Bit over the top. We were mud but nearly won the game.

For sure, but are you serious, blaming a winger for the loss??

Look at the #7 for a start I reckon - he was shit imo (I missed the first 20) and missing that conversion was huge

Should've use the quote thingo on the post. I was responding directly to this - "but I don't think he was our worst player yesterday at all" RE Wright.

My earlier post actually placed more blame on the refs than anyone else, since despite being absolutely rubbish for half the match we still would have won that game with a competent team of match officials.

Johnson had probably his best game of the season so far - doesn't say much, admittedly, but I didn't have too many complaints about him specifically.

Sweet - he was mediocre imo... but missing the handy conversion was unforgiveable, took the wind out of our sails imo, and gave them hope - we'll never know, but my feeling at the time was "we've won", nek minnut... as soon as he missed, I just felt the Broncos would get it

Weird game - pack going ok though... still not convinced by TL, sure he hits harder than Friend, but that's it...
I'm wondering if our second half spark (and nearly a match-winning spark) coincided with Friend coming into the match.

Yep - could well be.
I think the team lacks a leader. Not dissing Mannering but an on-field director.
I noticed Hoffman had a word with one of the young guys after he had made a mistake.
Same with Manu.
They really need a half directing things.

Agree there JJ. If Johnson is going to miss those kicks regularly then we should find another kicker. That conversion should be going over 95% of the time or more and that is at least he second one he's missed this Season.

Positive from the match is we did play like shit but for a couple a calls to go our way we could have won.

Hoffman already looks like a leader out there - still, I have a lot of time for Mannering

I don't think he will miss them regularly - Chad is good too?

More that he missed in that situation, I really believe we win if that goes over - an ugly win would have been great

Not as bad a game as a lot are making out. There was a promising patch in the second half where we looked better than we have in a long time. Worst refereeing performance I have seen in a long time, but we should have won that one anyway.

I'm with you. Despite all the first half errors, we did a good job of grinding Brisbane down in the second half, kicking game maintained the pressure on them for a lengthy period and we were in a great position to win. A blatant missed knock-on and an innocuous penalty later and it's all over. We've got to be that much better than the referees are awful I guess, but, despite looking out of sorts, the effort and overall workrate was good, I thought.

Being able to grind other sides down is the missing link for us, IMO. Outworking our opponents and trading of the mobility of our pack in attack and defense will go a long way to eliminating all of those frustrating losses from the past three years, where we got run down after surrendering a good lead. In particular, those are the losses that have really screwed us and kept us out of finals football.

Chad was lucky to land the ball on the ground side of the Pacific Highway when we played Newcastle last year. 65%, maybe 70% kicker.

SJ is still comfortably the best goal kicker in the club.

They were rolling well before that. The turning points were simple, holding the ball and Benny Matts trying single handedly to massacre the Broncos pack and almost winning. FWIW, Leuluai made a couple of good busts out of dummy half, he set the move alight that should have seen Manu in for a great try if Solomone passes instead of throwing the dummy. Manu was at the 'shut the gates' stage, he would have strolled in. That was a big error from Kata.

On the plus side we copped as raw a deal from the refs in that game as the Dogs did today, and our players and fans didn't spit the funny like Graham and Klemmer, or throw bottles at the refs like their fans did.

Yes, he probably is - but that was a terrible terrible miss in the circumstances, and I do think it took the wind out of our sails and gave them life...

Yep, there are always contentious decisions, and one team's fans are unhappy to an extent - but that carry on is embarrassing at best

Haven't seen bottles thrown but certainly heard plenty of unsavoury stuff at Mt Smart over the years haha.

However, easily the worst crowd experience I have ever been a part of was the Kiwis Kangaroos double header game at Eden Park a few years back. Pathetic behaviour that night from more than a few patrons, left the ground pretty embarrassed to be a Kiwi to be honest.

Every fan base has its special lot somewhere unfortunately, sucks for the game and sucks for the good ones that get tarred with the same brush because of the few f**k heads out there.

Pretty clearly the Bulldogs have more f**ktards that the rest though
