Were the forwards the problem tonight? Obviously, we are missing Matulino...but I feel like we got the better of a bloody good pack tonight.

The forwards have been the problem for some time.

We run one out and are easily gang tackled because there's no support to take defenders attention.

We rarely bend the line.

As a result our play the balls are slow.

Look at our games last year. Nearly all our tackle breaks come from the backs, our forwards are zero threat which is why we waste so many tackles when attacking the opposition line.

The big problem with this is that we fail to suck defenders in which directly affects the amount of time and space we can give our halves and backs.

So if we can't make a dent in the middle that leaves the edges where we don't have proper wingers to finish off. Maumalo missed a simple try tonight. It wasn't a bad bounce he simply read the angle wrong, allowed the ball to get outside him and didn't have the dexterity to put it down.

So we can't attack through the middle, our edge forwards can't break tackles, our wingers aren't finishers. What does that leave?

It leaves the centre channels as our only avenue of attack outside of someone pulling a rabbit out their ass

It all starts with the forwards. No tackles get broken, no defenders get sucked inward, and why is it that not a single one of our forwards know how to use a fend? It's so easy to wrap up our ball carriers.

Our forwards are absolute shit and no half or fullback will fix it on their own.

Hoffman/Thompson would be passable if we could atleast suck enough defense in to get them one on one but we can't even do that.

Outside of a new prop or two we'll be no better off next year than this year.

We had a heap of possession in their quarter and came up with nothing I'm sure some will find a way to blame Mannering, Lillyman and Hoffman, but you put Smith at 9 Cronk at 7 and we win by 20 or more.

I definitely agree with a lot of that- particularly your point about one out running with little support play and not having the players who can bend the line (which is why I am so keen on Sipley).

But our forwards got us in good position tonight and we looked disorganised and couldn't convert. That's why we lost.

I don't think the forwards were the problem tonight.

Your correct about the spine. Johnson should not be the Warriors no7 or 6. He is killing our team not leading it. After 5 years of this rubbish you think somebody within the Warriors organisation would of picked this up.

It doesn't matter if we're 10 out or 50 out, if the forwards are zero chance of breaking a tackle, if they're incapable of putting on a fend or producing an offload and if they can't support the ball carrier then it limits what the attack can do.

Field position is irrelevant, as we saw tonight, when the forward pack is zero threat of doing damage.

Can't just go wide against a set and ready defensive line and defending is a breeze when guys are just hanging back watching because it's not their turn to do anything.

Defenders make poor decisions when they're stretched and forced to make choices. Our inability to pull defenders inwards means defenders never make decisions. All they have to do is not miss their tackles.

It just kills me watching Lillyman and Mannering get the ball in the opposition 20 as its just a free defensive play for the opposition. Its essentially a gift wrapped tackle.

Also Luke consistently went the wrong way on attack tonight. Either he is sabotaging or the guy flat out has lost his ability to play football.

I'd say it's a bit of both.
Halves can't organise attack.
Forwards don't have a clue which angle to run or who's getting the ball on the play.
50+ tackles in opposition 20m, for 1 try and 1 lucky bounce points to halves to me.
Bad planning who to target in defensive line.
LOTS to work on!!!

Press conference not good.
Kearney only worried about 2nd half performance.
Manu knee is trouble.
Guess is hard to hang people out to dry, but at least say attack had nothing.
Defense he said let them in to easy.
Bit different here vs Storm and Bronco's ah Stephen!
