Made me laugh when Halligan said "Luke and Parker from Hawera and Foxton, down the bottom of the South Island on the West Coast". Fu*k he's a chump of the biggest order!!

I loled at that

Then Larmer and Monty mention Keiran Foran pronounced "Four In" then Halligan calls him Forrin FMD

Leave Halligan alone :) I was a fan of his in his Bulldogs days, only because he was a kiwi and that he wasn't that good. Commentarys another thing.

We're so DEAD at the moment and when were down we don't seem to have any fizzle. Its like Johnson, RTS and Luke are has beens and have now lost their individual brilliance. I might be jumping the gun here with that but when was the last time we seen these 'big names' do the types of things that made them big names?

RTS makes huge metres and often breaks the line, wobbly in defence and panics easily
Johnson single-handedly won games last year with clutch plays, sleeps a lot on the job though
Luke is cashing in a retirement cheque
Foran's treating this year as a warm up.

Only flashes of what they can do, and never in tandem.

Yeah, I am finding that funny - he's a shit commentator, but less shit than this team

And as a player he achieved more than anyone in today's 17

Halligan is easy to drown out and absolutely has street cred on his side.

It's just embarrassing when he tries to get too cute with gems like HURRELLICRANE

Thats what I mean, its like they're 'has beens' already! Those are our go to men and when were losing, they continue just to see out the sets. Just sucks the way they're playing, its not even entertaining.

And what's with Halligan
I loled at that

Then Larmer and Monty mention Keiran Foran pronounced "Four In" then Halligan calls him Forrin FMD
And Halligan calling Charnze "Nicole" instead of Nicol. It's like it's their own thing they do, pronouncing things wrong. Like a Michael Buffer 'Let's get ready to rummmbbbllleee'.

Again, he's still doing more to earn his salary than the Warriors. And despite being relatively slow and unathletic, could actually play at this level

Let's worry less about him and more about the club

Press Conference:
Yeah again, its pretty disappointing.
Apart from 20-25 minutes tonight we were physically beaten whether in the tackle or us carry footy
we need to have a good look at ourselves and ask why. Thats where it all started

60 missed tackles, well when you are getting physical beating, offloads creating missed tackles,
takes engery out of you.

First 20-25mins ok, 9 mins of footy without a break, arm wrestle type of contest.
there tries came a bit to easy, thats through them physicially getting the better of us.

We unfixed out defense in a week or two, so how ever we unfixed it we can fix it, it comes down to attitude.
training no attitude issues, bounced back from last week, but not what I saw at training.
If confidence is down after last weeks defeat, this week it will be down again.
need to focus and work our way back to confidence.

I have to have a look at the tape to make changes, a few returning from injury, need to assess and get best team on park.

RTS: held out a couple of ties, but they got he momentum. frustrating talk, everyone trying hard, but going in seperate.

Mooks: needs everyone putting in same effort, a couple tonight trying hard, too hard and other dropped off on short side vs guy inside. There are some guys busting their backside off, need to do it collectively.

RTS: we lost the wrestle, to many guys on the ground, brought the guys in. link between backrowers and centeres brokedown, players on the ground caused it.

Mooks: Right edge issue, caused by being beaten up, ruck speed. Ill make adjustments, but from my experisnce it grows from somewhere.

RTS: Mannering missing, needed there for boys, leads the pack, but SJ a Foran there and Hoffman.

2 weeks in a row we have been exposed badly in Johnsons defensive channel. Thompson just doesn't have the physical presence, speed and ability to carry such an important position in the defensive line. I'd love to see Mannering there next week, but then who carries the defensive workload in the middle?

I said it last week, the channel inside Johnson is stuffed. I don't believe sj lacks awareness and am putting it on bodene.

Just finished watching it (recorded)...wow, it was like men v high school kids...playing their first game. It really should have been a greater scoreline...It flattered us plus they missed some kicks at goal.
Johnson with some shocking grubber attempts

Bunty goes to right edge, Mannering into middle. I'd prefer Mannering on that edge instead, but our powder puff middle group needs something, even if it's not his best position....

Honestly... assuming Lillyman is unavailable next week, I'd also drop Gubb, Luke, Bodene and (assuming Manu is fit) also Ken. Bring in both Sipleys, Jazz, Mannering & Manu.

Luke needs a kick up the backside (ok, it's hard for him behind a middle group getting belted... but that doesn't excuse laziness.. particularly in defence). Gubb isn't good enough. Ken still isn't a winger.. CNK has taken 3 games to match Ken's try tally.... Ken has played 28 games. Bodene shouldn't play for the club again, short of massive injuries or a huge and consistent upturn in form (while playing NSW cup). Of course, we all know he'll be there next week...

I don't buy into the sentiment of 'it's not the coach it's the players' either. The coach picks the players. It's not like we don't have guys putting their hands up for first grade. Kearney has options. If the current team aren't performing, replace them with guys who are laying their claim in NSW cup. If it's the players, then drop them and use the guys who have performed this year, albeit at a different level. At least they're doing something right.

That said, I'm not advocating sacking the guy... I think he's a dead average coach at absolute best, but if we don't give him 2 of the 3 years on his contract we end up in a Tigers-like farcical situation. But someone needs to have a word... (why the **** didn't we get either a consistently successful rookie coach like Brennan - success at every level and every club he's been at... and that's over more than a decade - or the proven quality on the market like Ivan or Tooves?)

Luke is a myth. He made his career off the back of huge running Souths packs. He provides absolutely no direction from dummy half.

Yeah, 'Bully' is the classic bully, real tough when he's got all his big mates in front of him.

We all knew that guy at school.

Seriously but, Luke ran 'zero' metres in the first half (according to a commentator), is that true?

Halligan normally mentions players hometowns and clubs. I don't know if its him though that said it.

It must have been Betham cause Halligan said Packer's from Foxton, down on the west coast of the South Island (as Penrose_11 mentioned earlier).

Halligan scored tries in the corner and kicked more than a few sideline conversions to win or tie up games (including finals) so, yeah, the street cred's there.
