That Henry miss was bad, once Tomkins is back, maybe as early as next week, Lolohea to stay at fullback and Tomkins to 6 maybe.

Thought Lolohea outplayed most of Tomkins's past performances today.

Otherwise Mostly just the usual sloppy crap all around, so disappointing

Wasn't as bad as it looks or reads.
Lots of disruptions before kick off with Tomkins then Momala not starting, Henry going to the centres, and a re-arranged bench
Then with Lillyman coming off earlier and Hurrell getting injured with Luluei, who was controlling the pace of the game, also leaving early, the set up for defence and combinations for attack had completely changed from what they more than likely practice during the week.
Yet with 71 minutes remaining, only 4 down and hard on attack, a Gaga intercept lead to a 12 point swing and the game.
Lots of positives with Tui, Lisone, Vete showing plenty of skills.
Note. The young bloke playing stand-off in reserve grade looks great.

Lillyman played 20 minutes. No way that was part of the plan.

Vete/Lisone forced to play longer as a result. Matagi is only ever good for 20 minutes anyway.

Backrow couldn't get a break because of our centre injury issues, all played 80 minutes.

Unfortunately it all adds up, and the Knights weren't prepared to roll over and die.

Had our opportunities, but we couldn't have had much more go against us.

It certainly wasn't the inept effort we've come to expect round 1 each year.

In hindsight I suppose that's true, and the scoreline suggests a tight game.
And it is only round one.

But for some reason even when leading we never really looked comfortable other than odd flashes here and there.

All fair enough I guess, certainly for me the Vete/Lisone efforts while not perfect were impressive given I assume it wasn't the plan

But, while "it all adds up", it wasn't smooth sailing at all for the Knights, by any stretch... I am not quite buying the "we couldn't have had much more go against us" argument - they had adversity too... you're almost making it sound like it was a heroic effort to keep it close

Did anyone else notice how terrible the service was from dummy half? Both the hookers were off in this area.

That puts pressure on halves, but that wasn't the reason why they played so bad. They were just bad.

How many warriors supporters expect a win in round one? Only new ones.

Agreed 100% Loads of people jumping the gun way too early. This team is different. A good different. If we had all the players in their set places we would of rolled them (Or at least got the 2 points) . No team could live with that many disruptions so close to a game. And keep in mind the other years Round 1 losses we looked like we didn't compete at all (Once we were on the back foot we gave up). This year we did compete hard despite the end result. If some fans can't accept this then stay in Hibernation until the 2nd half of the season when there are few more wins.

One valid argument is we should of taken the game or gained more points when they were 1 down but Newcastle are a fighting team and will never give up, they showed the wanted it more and got the W
