Even on that 'pass' vv, I reckon he's a good chance of making something if he actually just takes the ball forward. They were stretched massively. They were running up and in like heat seeking missiles, a step, a jink, all of a sudden its probably 3 on 1. Just dumb. The whole team is thick as pig you know what.

I thought candy boy Johnson was seriously injured. Kid needs to harden the f**k up.

Maloney, Luck, Gatis, Death, Mears, Marsh

If we're talking top players... Gatis was barely playing at the Cowboys, Maloney had played 4 games, Luck was playing as a bench for the lowly Cowboys, and PJ Marsh didn't want to come over as I understand it. As I understand it, he signed a letter of intent not realising that obligated him, thinking he could take that back to Parramatta and force an upgraded offer. Once he was here he was more than happy obviously.

The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is Brent Tate.

That was a piece of shit. Manu shouldn't be in the team. Ikahahifo shouldn't be in the team. Henry shouldn't be in the team. They were all complete duds in a game that we really should of and had to win. Nielson was looking good until he went off. Our defence was pretty good also, but it's been said above if that was any other team we would of been down by 30 odd more. Refs are a f**king disgrace too, 2 weeks in a row on the same call, and both were at very different but very important times in the game.

We can't catch a break with injuries. The Lousi bros, Manu, Rapira bros, Taylor, Nielson, SJ, Hurrell, Locke, Friend, Lillyman, Henry, Godinet, Mara and Peyroux have all gone down during a game or missed a game due to injury. On top of that is that the Fish has been out. That's 17 of our top 25 players, and it's only 6 rounds in. As well as that is the fact that our next game is vs Melbourne in Melbourne. We are really looking at the cellar if some of these players don't pull their fingers out of their asses pretty f**king soon.

mateo - looks like hes just riding the bus until his contract is up and can get out of there

mannering - solid player, but definately not captain material, we need someone that talks to the team, revs them up, gets up them when they f**k up, whenever we let a try in hes always the first one to the drink bottle, should be tearing the team a new one

leulaui - complete rubbish, we need to throw every coin left at carney, if we end up keeping this dud and lose godinet to another club, im not going to be a happy camper

Fully agree on these three.

I talked about Mannering being a poor leader last week and many around here shot me down. He is a very good player but he's just not a good leader at all, where the hell was he when we were muffing all that ball? A real captain should be giving our boys hell for slacking off like that.

I never liked the TL signing and while he's patched up the Maloney defence hole, he's also removed all the attack Maloney used to give us. He's a stock standard run of the mill player at best.

lowrie - teams should know by now not to buy forwards form melbourne, as soon as they leave the storm culture, theyre rubbish

locke - cant remember the last time i saw him running off a forward offload...or do anything for that matter

mannering - solid player, but definately not captain material, we need someone that talks to the team, revs them up, gets up them when they f**k up, whenever we let a try in hes always the first one to the drink bottle, should be tearing the team a new one

the culture at the club is f**ked, its not something elliott can fix, not without getting rid of the main core of the players - rapira, mateo, packer, henry, locke

Interesting one. He was the link for one of Manu's tries. However I agree he barely seems to be there in support. In fact no one really follows up on a half break.

Have we had a line break up the middle of the field this season?

the injury excuse is such bs. its not like these names you mention are so much better than their fill-in`s that they make a difference.

The only players I see as must have are Friend & Neilson. The rest of them can go back to their paid holidays on the bench.

I saw a bit of Manu hate here, I thought he had a solid game and was one of the few who really put in.

The shocker for me was Mateo, all that experience and throws that atrocious pass when all we had to do was hold the damn ball. He's done nothing all season and maybe its time we showed him he doesn't just walk in every week.

Same for me, watching him off he ball as well he was not interested in getting involved.

Injuries are one thing, but players constantly not putting in week after week is piss poor. I've been watching this club since day 1, its like we only play to our potential sometimes or we only clock in for 60 mins each game.

I hope Elliott drops a few of these guys.

I thought he had a pretty good game. IMO (I only watched 60 mins of the souffs game) he was better this week.
BUT... I agree in a way - We lack a bit of leadership out there. At least some-one blowing out (A bit of passion - someone getting angry)

I wasn't using it as an excuse but not having the same players in certain positions week in week out can really screw with our attack, which by the looks of it it did in the first 3 rounds.

The reason for our losses is pure and simple, we are playing like absolute shit and are way too inconsistent within games. We look good then all of a sudden hit cruise control or something and it all goes to shit.

The Fish is in our squad of 25 therefore he is in that list.

Hard luck guys, must have been a tough one to sit through as a fan, was tough enough as a neutral !!

I wasted 4 hours of my life tonight watching Penrith v Newcastle and Canberra v Warriors, all teams were absolutely woeful

Yeah like I said, good player who puts in 100% every week. But he just doesn't inspire me as a leader at all, he seems like one of those likeable quiet achiever types who isn't the sort to give the boys a real hard push when they need their spirits lifted.

I truly believe that a Price or Campion with a (c) next to their name wouldn't have sat back and let us lose like today.

I'd hate to know what the culture of our joint is. If other clubs develop talent, those players generally go onto be good players. Us... I mean realistically the only one who has come through NYC who is consistently good is Ben Matulino. Johnson inconsistently is good, Hurrell is inconsistently good, Locke and Fisiiahi... I can't believe how badly they've gone over the past year or 2 between them. Fish scores 6 tries in a reserve grade game... can you imagine at a Manly or a Melbourne if a player came through with that sort of raw athletic ability that he wouldn't end up being the finished product? Even Russell Packer, that bloke was consistently tearing up with 150 to 230 metre games in NYC. He very rarely gets to 100m in first grade. From that first NYC team, Fai, Packer, Matulino and Locke were dead set certainties to be stars... obviously Fai ... well, lets not go there, but Packer and Locke have been duds.

Gap btw NYC and FG is a wide one...only a few are able to make it...a real test of whether player is a "goer" or a "blower"...we have a few blowers in warriors...time to move them on to other clubs. Elliot should sit down with warriors management and honestly tell them - this squad is 3rd rate

I don't know if yelling at players for their mistakes as captain works, but revving the team up, talking about settling it down, tucking the ball under the arm, leading by example.
At 26 is Mannering to young to be captain? Was he given it to young?

I think the NYC boys (Matulino aside) badly need to be coached and led properly to get the best out of them. Under Cleary as coach all of these young guys were just carving up (Brown, SJ, Taylor, Packer, Matulino, Locke), their heads seemed to be in the right place and on the job and they were delivering to their potential. Daniel Anderson also did wonders with our young guns in 02/03.

A year of Bluey ruined them, Fish was atrocious under him, and its yet to be seen if Elliott can fix them. They're rough raw diamonds and they can't fend for themselves unless the right guy is coaching them.

It goes back to your point about other coaches/teams and their raw talent, Bellamy and Bennett are masters of making the most of young nobodies and turning talent into results.

Not so much yelling at players. Would be good to see someone with a bit of fire in the belly for a change.
