Nikorima brought on early to 'spark something'. But he's not up to the task, is he?
never has been...

Roosters are one of the better sides - first one we've played, very encouraging imo

It sucks that we are playing the storm next week instead of a shit team, because after that, we are gunna get every 50/50 call under the sun. And it wont matter because they will overcome it.

Only saw the first 20-30mins, Warriors looked pretty good, but a noticeable dropoff comes when AFB sits down

On another note I watched the fan this afternoon, and was really impressed with Shaun Johnson answering his questions with Vossy, real mature head on him these days

Johnson took that knock to the head early on and seemed a bit gun shy after that. However, admitted in post match that line speed of Roosters was dominant throughout the match and limited the halves options.
Will give him the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah we definitely missed Lodge and Tevaga out there today, they shut down our middles with good line speed, and we didn't have the power or probably second phase to counter it. That and putting pressure on SJ and Walsh limited our attack. It's a pretty clear tactic, worked for the Cows last week too. We rarely had front foot ball the second half.

Defence was pretty solid, and the shape is looking a lot better than a month ago. Still need to polish our "footy", still a lot of one out.

Ref's were trash in that final 10 mins, didn't help our attempt at a comeback.

Had to work this arvo but avoided the result and watched the game on delay. Think the boys can hold their heads up after that, especially when you consider the Roosters got a pretty blatant home town refereeing performance on the day. Arthars should’ve had a try, AFB shouldve won his challenge, and there were others… you know we’re getting shafted when Blocker is rooting for the Warriors!

Ground looks empty.

Warriors 43m on first set.

Roosters 57m.

Rooster bomb knocked on by them.

Rooster pinged for inside the 10m, start on their 45m after being kept down our end.

6 more called as Roosters inside the 10m only 10m out.

AFB makes a break then held by Tedesco. How Tedesco isn't in the bin for that?

AFB missed support inside as well.

And we take the 2 points. Sorry dumb, keep at them, some Roosters slow to get back onside.

0-2 10mins

Yep, mistake by Warriors, CHT loses ball in 1 man tackle on our 35m.

Thank God knock on at scrum base by Roosters.

CHT got a over shoulder tackle and unlike other teams Roosters not penalised.

SJ ball goes dead off Tupou apparently as DWZ played at ball. Dropout Roosters.

A structured try, 2 angle runners, CHT out back to Pompey who hits Kosi unmarked to score and improve position.

0-8 17mins

Yep another mistake, Pene loses ball on 25m.

Arther tackled without ball that was out the back. Another professional foul let go.

Curran down, ankle issues.

Start on our 45m.

Arthers put down a ball out in front of him 20m out from Roosters line

Curran now off, pushing on shin.

Penalty inside the 10m. (Mistake penalty)

Pene hit in nose by JWH forearm, falling into it. Penalised. Nothing swinging.

Start on their 45m.

SJ grubber chased hard by us and force dropout. Bunker overturns it.

6again Warriors inside the 10m.

Manu no look pass goes to ground.

Lots of talk as Manu running with it.

SJ runs on last and big kick goes dead.

Roosters bomb knocked on, full set for them inside our 10m

Roosters with 1m forward pass, Tupou reaches forward for it and not called to score. 50/50 call at best. Arthers turned in.

Need to play smart and do a Storm and not get to scrum in time, so no set play can occur and a full defensive line.

6-8 30 mins

Wa

lker kicks it out on full, start on halfway.

Kosi loses ball after a few offloads.

Kosi trying to get back into field of play goes low and hit in nose by Radley.

Start in the 25m

Roosters up bloody fast.

Kicking to Tupou wing exclusively this half.

HALFTIME.

Let's hope we don't get a repeat by Roosters last week.

Walsh kicks it dead from kickoff, dumb!

Roosters start 30m out.

Victor loses ball but called hand on ball by Egan.

Taking 2

8-8 42 mins

Ref calls held and work him to ground, Warriors penalised on play 1.

Crusher by Roosters after we get out of jail with a Manu offload shut down and rooster chip behind picked by Walsh.

Flop missed by ref on Curran slip, 2nd man in flopping.

Pompey on last just drops it and Keary keeps himself inside the touch.

Radley puts ball down on their 45m.

6again as Rooster inside 10m.

6 more Roosters knock on CHT Cross kick.

6 more inside the 10m.

Need to score, but no Walsh loses ball over line. But high contact, Roosters not stripping apparently (even Blocker saw it and Arthers scored) Or high as its the Roosters.

Followed by us inside the 10m from the scrum.

They get 40m on their kick vs our 20m at best. Starting on our 35.

AFB back with 27mins to go.

DWZ drops a bomb, doesn't even jump.

Roosters 12 just jumps as distraction before ball gets there and Naiqama scores.

14-8 55mins

This time 12 hits DWZ jumping and penalised.

Why is no one on AFB hip?

Roosters get a BS penalty, Teddy had the right to be tackled and held. Apparently to long.

Multiple offloads by Roosters finished with fast play the ball Walker spinning out of SJ tackle and scores easy.

20-8 62 mins

DWZ earns penalty for players to long in tackle on him.

Raddle hits high and no penalty called.

Madness, SJ turned it inside to Walsh, a few steps then cross field kick to DWZ who gets lucky that Tupou slips over falling for his shimmy shake.

20-14 66mins.

AFB loses ball, captains challenge.

Critters hand all over it.

WTF, no way, Blocker calling a strip. f**k me. Robbed try and now this.

Now Roosters throw ball forward goes to ground, then DWZ facing backwards gets called knock on. This is a joke.

Critter plays ball wrong after good tackle by CHT.

Captains challenge. Pompey pulling foot out of ruck and ball played on his foot.

Penalty, taking the 2.

Refs getting Roosters home.

22-14 70mins.

Short restart goes 25m into Roosters hands.

Roosters chip over taken dead by Walsh.

Shoulder charge on Walsh not picked up.

By bunker, but Knocked on by Roosters into Walsh.

Roosters get a penalty as plenty of Warriors in front of kicker. Touchie can tell that.

Collins goes over but not try as double movement, promoting football. Bunker looking and confirms it.

SJ only 15m from kick, should have been 30-40m with breeze.

SJ down reelng out a tackle.

Walsh knocks on bomb.

Taken in goal on full, Walsh restart and runs into middle rather than going wide.

6 more to balance the stats up a bit so ref can refer to it as balanced.

Game set match.

22-14

I guess no fine for Roosters having 15-16 players on the field.

Old mate the Bunker, eh? With the game on the line, they win a CC against a Chooks' knock-on. Where was Chanel's foot supposed to go?

22-14, them. Nine mins left.
Pompeys foot and not even looking, just getting it out of the ruck and ball put on it.

I personally am comfortable with the AFB challenge being called a knock on, but then the Crichton one HAS TO be a knock on and maybe a penalty against him. I’m all for putting a premium on ball security but you can’t then switch up and reward a guy who gets smashed in a dominant tackle and tries to play the ball incorrectly.
