It's about Cricket NSW committing $100,000 (not a typo) to upgrading North Sydney Oval as a venue for Women's Cricket. The AFL has promised $50k and Rugby $20k. Ironically there is zero funding commitment from the Bears in the article.

This has been spun into an article about an "unlikely' partnership between the Bears and Cricket.
That’s it

Cheers. Not surprised, Bears have very little money.

Another reason Perth sucks is because it's the only main population center outside of the east coast. Imagine how easier it would be for sporting leagues to be based solely in triangle between points at Adelaide, Brisbane & Melbourne?! Adds obstacle of distance

Agreed
Nrl could stay east coast plus nz and png and the travel times and focus would be fine

While it's a tedious and extensive journey for players and staff, it hasn't stopped every other national competition from having a team in Perth.

rugby actually cut the force due to poor crowds, performances and the distance. Then they had an outpouring of anti-east coast sentiment in perth and Forrest managed to sell out the stadium for a gimmick exhibition game and Rugby Aus brought them back.

A few years later and their games are near empty again

Melbourne Rebels were just as unsuccessful. Queensland and NSW aren't faring too well either. ACT has gone backwards. The competition as a whole has lost its way.

Sanza wanted to trim the comp. It was all political cutting the force.

Every professional sport in Australia( excpet RL) manages it, our girls teams manage it, our U18's kids manage it, I manage it, I'm sure big tough NRL players will survive!
But good attempt at trolling.

The 18th team must be based in Perth, forget propping up other Countries like PNG or NZ2, the Warriors have been a basket case since their inception.
If the NRL don’t go to WA they may as well just become an East Coast competition.

Calling another poster a troll while deliberately sabotaging every thread with your anti V’landys agenda is the height of hypocrisy.

Bit of Bears expansion talk at 12min 30secs. "We will always be the NS Bears", sums up why we cant let this mob take the WA license if that's where the NRL decides the next club will be.
