WA BEARS

I think GIO is probably the worst stadium outside of Shark Park and Leichhardt. Haven’t been to Kogarah.

Anyway GIO is really crap. It would have to be really bad to be worse than that.
I took my wife to Leichhardt on a wet night. They roped off sections of the hill and I slid over getting a can of beer BEFORE I was pissed. Shark Park isn’t good but Leichhardt is a horror show.

Sorry for laughing at your misfortune there but the fact that they still play NRL games at Leichhardt is pretty ridiculous.

I took her to the game under the misapprehension we were going to this iconic ground. It was a shit hole. We got drenched until a nice bloke gave her an umbrella and the place was a slime pit. The stands looked like a home for retired termites. Never again.

This end has 3 different looking type of stands plus grass
The infamous shed lol. The bit on right side is corporate boxes, the middle bit is terraced standing and the green seats are the new lower bowl they put in during the 2012 refurb.
when we get the west corporate stand built Id like to see the shed extended full length of the back of stand. Easy and cheap 2000 under cover capacity increase and great for atmosphere.

Don’t blame you. I went there with a couple of mates one time.

Nice day and all but it reminded of the grounds that I see at local Newcastle Rugby League. It is probably ok for Jersey Flegg or NSW Cup but not for an NRL game.

they might if you need somewhere.

Sydney 13k, Sydney 8.5k, Redcliffe 10k. And you’re worried about a perth club drawing a crowd lol

Leichhardt & redcliffe pretty much sold out. Remember Perth has bigger overhead. Break even number is much higher over there

It reminds me of No. 1 Sports Ground in 1968 except there are no steel beer cans to piss in because there are no toilets

Have you been to Perth or WA in general ?, best of all of the major cities in Australia imo, not dirty with polution like Sydney, not cold like Melbourne, not humid like Darwin, it is very clean with very nice beaches.
Very nice place and the weather is great.

Honestly, if WA don’t come to the table with some kind of decent stadium upgrade, I can see the NRL going elsewhere first. The NRL will remember that it took more than a decade for the Storm to get a decent home. If you don’t get one before the club starts, the NRL will know they may have to wait 10 to 20 years.
