NZ has 4 bids... hey but Perth has 1 from Sydney... and everyone thinks they're the front runners?
Believe it when I see it.
Because that one Perth bid is the sole focus of business (read: potential sponsors), State Government, NRLWA & the WA rugby league community/fans ?

At the same time, similar interests in NZ may currently have differing loyalties between any of those 4 bids.

Unity of purpose is a big selling point for Perth right now, and everything is in behind their one bid - we still have to see if one of the NZ bids can unite all the various parties here - or at least emerge so strongly that the other failed bids supporters get on side with it.

As follow up to that point, I'm not even sure if it's safe to say there's one bid for "Brisbane 3" that people there are behind

While it may be a fair assumption to think that Brisbane Easts - in whatever brand they select - is a frontrunner thanks to the financial clout & long history (which is a factor the NRL seems to put weight on), the last bidding round for Brisbane 2 showed that there may be several bids emerging once the sniff of a chance is present.

TL : DR - Perth is clearly unified behind one bid, NZ 2 clearly isn't, and Brisbane 3 probably won't be either.

Perth couldn’t raise the 30 million license fee themselves they had to run to eastern state investors and the north Sydney bears

Still at the top, apparently covid has gone through the Bears ranks the last week.
The Storm play mainly on Thursday nights from now until seasons end so hopefully the Bears may get some players from them but I won’t hold me breath on that.
Tough game against the Jets at NSO this coming weekend.
