WA BEARS

Of course it does.

PR had that response locked and loaded before he even got his answer.

The excuses not to support the Perth team started days ago, it’s continuing here.
It would be the worst f**king disaster if the Perth locals started to look for reasons to undermine the WA team, assuming that the Bears don`t over play their hand in this. We have to give them (the Bears) the benefit of the doubt presently. Take note @Perth Red .

Why not give the bears the benefit of the doubt, they have great selling points:

We haven't been in the competition for 20 odd years. We were part of a failed merger. Before that we were part of a failed relocation. We last won a comp over 100 years ago. We did make a finals series in the 1990s though.

Our fan base is in north Sydney which is only 6000km from Perth. Our home ground is a cricket oval. Our colours are famous, red, black and white, a bit like the old western reds team.

And one of our supporters is Jeff Jimries! He's a comedian. We think. He's huge in western Poland.

Said from day 1 of this I’ve no interest at all in supporting a fifo north Sydney club. We’ve gone from a WA owned and run club to rumours that it’s now going to be ns investors owned. Hmmmm it’s Almost like Vlandys wanted this all along?

Why do you think they’re FIFO? They’ve stated that they will be permanently based in WA.

So again I ask you if you want a WA NRL side or does it need to be specifically Cumins owned WA NRL side?

So they dont have the full amount? Do they even have the $30mill the last group had?
Depends if they are spending THAT money on the club set up or a licence fee first, then the remainder on club setup, the smart play is to get in the door first then get into loans, more investors, whilst the ball is rolling, either way WA owned or not makes zero difference to consistant content being played there a hbf park

BEARS TALKS IN HIBERNATION
The West Australian Government has confirmed that it is willing to work with the NRL in the hope of Perth being part of an expanded competition.
The Western Bears’ hopes took a massive dent when they were formally rejected by the NRL just days after the grand final.
Since then, however, the NRL has been busily working with government officials to try and salvage the plans for Western Australia to be the NRL’s 18th team in 2027.
The NRL has written to WA premier Roger Cook to let him know that talks between the NRL and the consortium had broken down.
The NRL Is now going to explore a different model in terms of ownership which may be similar to that of the AFL running the new Tasmanian side.
It is understood the government replied, where they detailed they are keen to work alongside the NRL, but need a better understanding of how the new franchise would work.
They will now wait to hear from the NRL in the next fortnight.
The WA Government was fully supportive of the consortium bid led by Cash Converters boss Peter Cumins.
That bid has been rejected by the NRL but the government is holding out some slim hope that the parties may be able to come back to the table.

I think the WA gov should hit up the NRL & west tigers to move over there. Have a guaranteed 7 games in Sydney each year (the away games to other Sydney teams) give them a heap of salary cap benefits and do it.
