No one. It doesn’t exist. They said they preferred the location/region to have a team in the future that’s all.

Huh? there is a bid from Central Queensland … I recall them including it when they listed all the bids .. also Ben Ikin mentioned it in an interview a few weeks back on SEN

Ikin is heavily favouring in the Western QLD bid. Are you sure you’re not confusing them?

Geoff Murphy was the only businessman willing to invest in a Central QLD NRL bid based out at Rockhampton. He was prominent in 2009-2013 and then again in 2018. But after that he went on to do other things. No one else has stepped up to restart or get it going again.

All Im saying is that there is a bid from Central QLD ….which was both directly mentioned by Read in the James Graham Expansion podcast around the 18.30 mark ,,, and also it was mentioned by Ikin a few weeks back in addition to the bids in Brisbane …

there are no further details made public that I am aware of though …the other bid 10 years ago is pretty irrelevant to me now

Central QLD would be 50/1 or higher to come in as Teams 18,19 or 20…

Said this before… would be nice to have some details about some of these other bids outside WA and PNG ..,obviously no one is leaking anything which is really strange for Rugby League …

It may not be a “leak “ but we certainly know plenty about PNG and Western … apart from that .:: there was one article about Singo and the Ipswich Jets… Couple of articles and interviews about the Kea prior to the bid process before old mate got told to shut up …: and that’s pretty much about it …

Then they have no future as part of a multi-billion company.

Team 18 is going to be one of 20 owners of the NRL
50% of dragons sold for $10mill. Warriors solve for $16mill, Souths valued at $47mill. Titans and knights sold for $2mill.

Maybe people are over estimating the value of a new start up with a high risk and significant initial investment needed? It’s not like there’s been a slue of private investment groups hammering the nrls door down for one of these 20 licenses is it?

In some cases those valuations are 10 years old

That is also ignoring the assets of each club.

Souths are the most recent so lets use that example.

They were valued at $47m but have since added a $27m CoE. So you are looking at minimum $80m worth Souths bring

Broncos are even richer

Dolphins have $100m of assets behind them.

The rest of the NSW Clubs are community owned with huge assets behind them. Panthers have $250m of worth.

Sharks the least asset rich still own land, Added the Golf Club.

The Perth bid consisted of a couple of rich guys. So should have some skin in the game, how much is the question

Manly were offered 28 million and said no

Broncos are worth 105 million

It’s not hard to value a profitable business where revenues are growing either

What’s an nrl team going to be worth when the grant is 10 mill over the cap

I would suggest 100 million at a minimum

Yeah - I've been absolutely stunned at how watertight the process has been outside of Perth Bears & PNG - but if I was any other bidder I'd be happy with those two bids getting all the media coverage.. and just keep my head down while they deal with so much public scrutiny.

I absolutely hope that once the 3 expansion teams are decided, we get a clearer picture of what the full field looked like.

The options not taken will be really interesting to see.

no they are not. If one of the games most established top earning clubs was valued at $45mill last year what on earth makes you think a new start up with all the risks attached to any new start up would be worth anywhere near $50mill? It’s ludicrous

we are talking nrl license value not how much a clubs pokie Den would cost to buy. Clubs where licenses have sold have gone for nothing like the money delusional fools on here think it’s worth, even given some of them were a few years ago.

2017 knights and titans sold for $2mill
2018 nz warriors sold for $16mill
2018 50% Dragons sold for $10mill
2019 manly turn down $18mill offer
2023 souths book value $45mill

Manly was allegedly $18million.

broncos are an established brand who happen to be the biggest most profitable , by a country mile, of any Rl club in the world. They are an anomaly.

we can only go on facts, and the facts we have to date is that no nrl club license has been bought or even offered, more than $20million. To think a new start up club is worth $50mill has no basis in reality.
