Which they will charge rent on and generate tens of millions of tourism each year

But yet it’s for rugby league lol

That might depend on the deal they get from the WA Government if it includes favourable rental terms ie corporate box revenues etc. as is done for West Coast and Fremantle at Optus Stadium

If stadium redevelopment and construction is a condition of the Lincense deal, then it kinda is for rugby league.

If it was a deal like Metricon stadium where Perth get to keep all the management rights maybe

The wa govt isn’t doing this to benefit rugby league. It’s to promote tourism

This is a stadium which benefits one sport

They own the management rights

So they keep all the bar and food sales and also naming rights

So why is a test match, BBL SOO and Metallica there in the next 12 Months?

All of these major stadiums are multipurpose, while the primary tenant may be one sport or another, they are all -particularly in Optus Stadiums case, designed with other sports and events in mind. [See also Adelaide Oval, Allianz Stadium, proposed Maquarie Point Stadium] No Government is funding a tier 1 stadium for a single sport - and certainly no Government is specificying it.

The closest you probably get is QCB in Townsville,, and even then its not like other sports dont use it. Even the AFLs redevelopment funding from the Vic Gov is conditional on them allowing other codes to use Docklands for the next 30 years. Kayo has been used by the Roar

If HBF park becomes the same deal for NRL... then it will be an NRL stadium

Stadium was a primary Commonwealth Games venue and hosts one or two BBL matches a year, as well as the odd Concert event. The AFL contributed $10 million towards it. Techically the AFL is the ground manager, but the Suns run it on their behalf.

So the argument some are putting forward is that unless the stadium can only be used for NRL it does not constitute the WA govt providing funding for an NRL team. Ain't ever going to happen, especially in a non NRL or even a pro NRL state.

No doubt it has a primary tennant or tennants in Allianz's case.

For regular content but Optus was built to attract World Class events to the city not for an AFL team.

As the development would be too

Once again ..this argument originated from Perth Red saying that the $300m the WA Govt has proposed spending to upgrade HBF should be considered money that is being spent on the new Perth NRL team ..

Black and white …the end

Everything else you read has come about from those disagreeing with that statement
