As opposed to the only pathway being from WARL?
I just watched the WA rep side play in the CAS Championships and then against a Touring second division English rep side made up of players from Yorkshire etc.
WA just wanted to play argy bargy footy, very one dimensional, their line up altered lots from players being unavailable due to work commitments, you would never see that happen on the East Coast.
They have a long way to go.

How is it not a good reflection on the pathway potential for Perth?
Sorry. It's a magnificent reflection on the pathway potential for Perth.

Possibly the greatest reflection of a pathway in history.

So good it can't be possibly critiqued. It's actually shameful to call it anything but a work of art that should be in the Louvres.

Wonderful, game changing stuff by the bears. Surely the Nobel peace prize it's on its way to North Sydney Oval.

I could go on but mere words aren't sufficient to describe the magnitude of this pathway. 3 Michelin hats and 27 thumbs up.

Love it  Really
It's a very creative response to try and distance yourself from that "business as usual" reply which missed the mark and maybe didn't make the point you thought it did

Again, why are you on this thread, all you do is bag the bid out, don’t you have anything better to do with your time ?.

Don't distant myself from anything. Nothing from the original post is revolutionary.

Considering BARLA side had about ten times bigger player pool to draw from I think WA did ok. Game management told in the end, which you'd expect better half backs from a deeper pool. It was great to have an England team come over and tour. Very positive for the game here.

I’ve known a few fringe players from the Coast who have gone over and played with teams like Cumbria in the lower divisions,
Jack Cogger who is with the Knights went over there for a year after he left the Bulldogs and but was quickly elevated into the Huddersfield Giants line up, when he came back he signed with Penrith.
So did another talented halfback Brendan O’Hagan (York Knights).

Doesn't WA have 7000 players or something of the sort? I thought 17 gooduns would have been identified from that bunch.

Hopefully WA get better resources etc. Be good to see a steady stream of talent eventually come from there.

4,400 at all ages and genders. Yep without elite systems the good 'uns will head East, to Union or never develop further.

Just from Beach on those two games:

Two of the states best missed playing because they were just picked up for Burleigh Bears.

Another was away with South African RL staff on a development tour in SA.
I read a few pages back *don't shoot me that I found time to even consider, let alone do it* that WA have some players who go to QLD to ply their trade and gain experience.

If this is true then it lines up with what you're saying about a couple heading over to the Bears. The irony isn't missed there!

At one time I think we had around 30 from WA playing in NSW and Qlnd comps. Not sure what the number would be now, probably less since the loss of the SG ball program.

Both Bailey Millar and Jaylen Grey were picked for WA and they didn’t even play the 2024 Fuel to Go & Play season, they both couldn’t make the Capras QLD Cup side and played in the local competition up there.
Players like Darius Rogers (halfback), River Coleman (hooker), Paora Kemp (fullback) who won ISC player of the year for their positions were all unavailable for selection.

It'd be interesting to see a WA rep side with the best WA players from any comp against a Vic side similar. Smattering of NRl/SL players plus the nsw and qlnd cup players and the best of the local comps. That'd make for an interesting state of origin.

Bailey Millar played the first three rounds and dislocated his Elbow. He was eligible and wasn't in QLD.
Jaylen Grey played two games for North Beach this year.

Korey Craig (First grade players player) was injured.
Daruis Rogers (half back of the year) picked up by Burleigh.
Jesse Rafferty (top try scorer) picked up by Burleigh.
Shane Gilham SA tour.
