The NZ bid announced last week has no Leagues Club backing but comes with assets built into the bid.

As opposed to Cummins who 'was confident' he'd raise the $30m when the article was printed in July.

That is the difference
And by October they had raised the $30mill start up costs.

"The initial costs were something like $16 million," Cumins told AAP.
"Then on top of that you've got the $10 million for the temporary facilities, and that was going to be Ken Allen Field in Fremantle.
"So there's $26 million before you've even kicked a football.
"We raised $30 million, that gave us $4 million of room as we start to get our revenues through the game and our subsidies through the NRL.

What assets? Maybe a CofE and maybe a city development if they can raise the investment needed? Is that really assets for the club? Bit like saying Tinklers companies were assets for the Knights or Cash Convertors was an asset for the Western Bears. At least's Perth's CofE funding is locked in.

If financial security is an issue then impose what they did on the Dolphins, who despite their assets had to take out a bank guarantee for 5 years. Probably becasue no LC board is going to say yes to selling their pokie dens to pay off an NRL clubs debts!

What evidence of said assets has the NZ bid provided?

I think everyone is jumping on this because it rustles @Perth Red jimmies only.

Even if there’s a verbal agreement it can take ages to get documents prepared and signed off on by lawyers and it’s the wa govt involved together with nrl and or investors

Still think it will be before Christmas

Starting to look like Christmas 2025 for Team 20

The longer the wa govt dither the less time they have to get the club sorted before 2027

Might also lose all the staff who had agreed to come on board to other bids or current clubs (eg Brad Arthur)

im sure the WA Govt has more important things on their mind before the NRL team ..like getting re elected in March …

Deal would want to get done by the end of this month

You know they would appoint someone / group to handle the direct negotiations
