You’re the one making up bs scenarios as fact

I hope Cummings doesn’t relinquish the ip for western bears so the team can be called Perth bears like it should’ve been from the start

Western was up there with firebirds
you said he gave it for free,
I said you have no evidence of that,
you said it was in the article,
i showed you it didnt specify what the deal was in the article

ergo We have no facts and dont know if he sold it or gave away something he'd paid a decent whack of money for for free lol

As long as its not "The" or NS I dont really care anymore.

The thing about Monday nights is that whereas unlike Thursday nights where a lot of people still go out because it`s near the end of the working week, Monday nights it is much more likely that most people will be in. Not good for crowds but excellent for Tv viewing numbers.
I believe Monday night TV game holds the tv viewing ratings record
Monday night footy was fantastic 😍
Better than Thursday night

yeh lets recap:

WA Consortium willing to put $50mill in
NRL wanting to take $20mill out
NS offering $0

And somehow the WA consortium was the problem lol

Perth group never named backers. NRL asked for licence fee as security and Perth group ran to media and said that they were double crossed. NRL moves on and subsequently Perth then has 20 million for fee.

Can’t be bothered finding the article

He also said he’s happy to give the ip for Perth bears for free to but this time to Pvl

He obviously got burned by Cummings last time

You’re the one making up bs about the team being called the or north Sydney

Cummins wanting the 1000 bucks he spent on the bid refunded to him is the reason why he should have nothing to do with the team

He was given the ip to western bears by a bears fan for free too

When NRL moved on Perth group suddenly had 20 million available when there was no chance they'd get team. Even then Perth group gave NRL (meaningless) ultimatum. Not good way to build partnership I should think.

Anyone else have a shtty feeling its going to be "The Bears"?

"We wrote to the NRL and said that we had done all this work, had an agreement with the North Sydney Bears, agreed on logos, club names and had registered and trademarked them."We said that was all available to them if they want to recompense us for the money that we have spent."

I don't remember such acrimony around dolphins bid, but then again Dolphins got up.

Like it said, you dont sit around with $50mill buring a hole in your pocket when it could be making money for you. That was the date they gave the NRL that the offer was on the table for. NRL replied no thanks. Rich guys move on and spend their money elsewhere.

So we could have had a fully funded team announced in October but now Vlandys has left it to the vagaries of a State election. Best keep our fingers crossed Roger gets back in!

“We are still in discussions with Perth and they have been positive,” V’landys said.
“Unfortunately for us the election is on March 8 so we will give it some breathing space until after that.
“We will look at a 20th team but that may not be done in this broadcast cycle.
“I wouldn’t discount another team from Queensland or New Zealand.”

They got rejected a month before that

It’s like me giving a super model a deadline to bang me when she’s moved on to Leonardo Di caprio and then me saying I’m not interested anymore

Post the rest of the article on the tv thread

Disappointing if they don’t go to 20 as part of the next deal and interesting he’s mentioned Brisbane

I can tell you right now that Norths had not agreed to the logos. They still had their own graphic designers working on something to present to the consortium right up to the day the consortium got rejected. As a matter of fact none of the board had even seen the consortiums logos.

The name was agreed to though. As for the trademarks, WA Consortium went off and did that themselves (off the back of Freshwater Strategy advice) without presenting them to the NRL or Norths first.

Why this bloke is blatantly making up porkies is beyond me. Maybe he is losing track of mind after all was said and done.

Finally, no it isn’t going to be The Bears. It’ll very much be a West Australian club with West Australian geographical identity in the club name.

eh? They made the counter offer through the premiers meeting on November 17th. It came with a limited offer time of Dec 20th. The time passed, the NRl weren't interested and rejected the offer same day, the bid officially withdrew the offer after the date. That's how business works. They left it on the table as they knew the NRL's Plan B tyo get the WA govt to fund everythign was never going to be accepted. When it was rejected the NRl then had the choice to go back to Plan A or come up with a Plan C which was for them to fund it themselves. Im still very interested to know how Vlandys has got the other 17 clubs to agree to letting the NRl invest $20mill+ of the games money in a new clubs start up and carry the financial risk of a WA club for a few years.

Yeh Pvl had rejected them before that. The Cummings bid was dead early October

By December the nrl was balls deep dealing directly with the wa govt

Difficult group willing to throw NRL under bus to media. Never revealed backers. Refused licence fee.

Imagine cheering for the loss of private investment in the game because you want another poster to be unhappy.
The private investment wasn’t 100% legitimate. So much so that the NRL made a decision to intervene and implement provisional measures of control then as more was revealed to them they changed their stance and thought it better to just control the proposed club in-house instead.

The consortium didn’t do their due diligence on their investors. This is on them.
