apparently they only asked in return that an old pommy geezer from hull known for incredible levels of lying, being wrong and whinging to never be given a club membership.

they said if they wanted shit, they'd put stocks in septic tanks.

true story

it would be kind of ironic if after 25 yrs of complaining here , that he would somehow be denied a membership to see them play when they finally get in …

How do we make it happen ?

If I had to guess...
- Token board position "Heritage advisor etc.."
- Norths themed branding red and black
- One Sydney based home game on Heritage round. I would play Manly at the SFS on a Sunday. Would be another event game for the NRL and one I think the Perth Bears will do well out of financially. Also a pre season game at NSO.
- Aligning of junior and reserve grade with North Sydney with the eventual goal of replicating teams in WA.

I feel that is reasonable as it's no threat of the club ever moving back east. Will be always a WA based team with heritage links to NS. At work have a lot of WA clients and have always felt sympathetic to the Bears plight, so if it all comes to fruition I will get a basic membership to help out :)
They were getting everything bar the board seat with no financial investment under the Western Bears bid. So are they expecting a share of ownership for this investment? Thats what would normally be expected.

My call was for investment in the NS side of the operations - improved funding to the NS Bears pathways sides and a decent training centre. Not for them to become part owners of a Perth club.

It was red and black, called Western BEARS and had a bear head logo. It should not have 'North's' branding, it should have Perth Bears branding based on the heritage of North Sydney branding.

What Reds branding? They had already announced the Bears name and lodged a bear head logo for IP purposes. Not to mention the Reds branding is owned by Puddy so they couldnt use it if they wanted to.

The man literally withdrew his involvement and said they were changing the colours.

The western bears bid as lodged included allegedly some branding involving the reds

If by 'changing the colours', he means adding gold, then let him walk. In my opinion, adding gold is a must. As much as having red and black should be prominent for a NRL Bears team given NthSyd are feeding into this WA team, I feel they have to have a point of difference from the 1908-1999 NRL Bears team. Logo, likewise, can and possibly should be based (even if it's only loosely based) on a NthSyd Bears logo, but should be its own brand from day 1.

Again, this isn't the North Sydney Bears relocating and re-entering the NRL. This is (or bloody-well should be) a brand new WA-based franchise with ties to NthSyd. I completely understand the long-time NthSyd Bears supporters dearly wanting to see their team back in the big-time, and I understand their passion for wanting this to be 'their' North Sydney Bears that is allowing WA to share their team, but all the talk coming from those in the know at all levels of involvement is that this is WA's team that will take on the Bears' colours, mascot, and hopefully their supporters.

I hope everyone remembers this, not just now, but after the announcement, after they kickoff Round 1 2027(?), but also 10, 15, 30 years, ect, into the future.
Any talk of disharmony or ill-feelings from either side of the Nullabor at any stage, and we could potentially have Wests Tigers version 2.0, and nobody wants that.

Yep a new club that is first and foremost a WA club but that respects and honours the NS heritage is all that we are asking for.

That’s why the nrl took over the bid

They saw the division of the two joint ventures

They will sell once the team is well established

And the bears colours and identity is red white and black

That’s the basis for this bid

Wa has the location and the bears have the identity
