Haha edging his bets isnt he?

I believe it (the birth of the Perth Bears as the 18th team) will happen, but there’s always a possibility that the Perth team won’t happen.
“We will see what eventuates with those discussions and they will conclude either with a (Perth) team or without a team.”

“If it doesn’t work with Perth, we would look at other options for them.“

Yes yes yes

If the wa govt don’t do the right thing there’s a beautiful stadium just to the north of Sydney on the water that is crying out for a team

This was the problem with people like Cummins not realising how important the bears brand is to team 18

He’s bang on about the economic benefit the team will bring to Perth
I’m very ok with that, someone else can have bears and one day we will get a proper perth club.

It's happening, the 20 locked in are WA, PNG and NZ2, SEQ4 is not mentioned any more. A date for the 3 of them to be playing is frequently mentioned of 2030, this date wouldn't be banded about without a nudge and wink from Phillip Street.

What I find incredulous and equally hilarious from reading your Facebook rants, is that you expect PvL/NRL to accept the first bid. Is this is the new JB Down Under!? Will you promise now not to wet the bed if PvL just accepts the first bid regarding the TV rights and doesn't negotiate? That's exactly how you are acting now and I expect less bitching in the TV Right sub-forum going forward.

Perth bid didn’t read the room about how crucial the bears were

Now the wa govt has a second chance

Pvl has called them out like many of us on here saying the money isn’t a gift, it’s to generate tourism for wa

Plus govts shouldn’t be complaining about investing in kids sports

Playing league would be an excellent choice compared to afl or union for Perth kids so it’s govts job to facilitate kids sport and measures to help with childhood obesity

The wa govt will end up coming up with a number pvl is happy with

Having Rugby league gives the local boys in WA an option outside of being gay. There's nothing wrong with being gay but you do want other options.

LOL, the best economy in Australia needs an NRL club. He's got the WA govt snookered , how else could they possibly make money.

Might be the best economy but far from the best state. There’s plenty of other factors in which the NRL can sway the narrative.

Hopefully they continue to positively work through this hurdle. I suspect this is the last hurdle, albeit a big one. Confident WA Bears will get up.

In saying all that, “some” of the WA crowd do need to chill out a bit, bring it down a notch and let it play out.

Its going to add just as much as any other NRL team is going to contribute - match wise.

Not sure how you figure that to be the case, but ok.
You know nz has its own seperate tv deal to the Australian one

The added benefit is those games also offer extra content for Australian tv networks

Let’s say nrl games average 10k on tv in Perth. How many new viewers will a Perth team add and what’s that worth ? Not a lot imo

They should move the bears to Christchurch.
You’re sounding more and more like a sad sack every day. Like this is whole thing is affecting your health or something. Maybe it is, maybe mentally you’re beaten.

Anyways you always have your Cave to share your rants on. Just keep the anti NRL propaganda coming, if you rant hard enough I’m sure some will eventually forget what actual competition you’re trying to enter…
