So who has told you $50m and why are they credible ?
He posted on here the arl wanted a board seat on the wa bid and named Tony Crawford as the person

I thought this was total bs then a week later the media reported this so I knew he was reliable

That’s the thing about these forums is people make up so many bs conspiracy theories then ignore the people that actually know what’s going on and mock them for making it up (not saying that’s me lol)

The media hasn’t got many things right so far in the expansion process ..

Things change

They got the 3 teams coming in right

Plus pvl is leaking stuff to the media some of which isn’t true just to help negotiations with the bid teams in Perth and nz

Remember when he told the Australian govt the png team was dead and leaked it to the media to get them to cave

He’s doing the same here with wa and nz

Of course.

6pm Friday games is 4pm Perth time. Having a 100k Bears fans tune in on the East helps the value of the deal.

I think the 220k number is wrong but if there are say 2k that attend regular away games. You are at an extra $100k for the home club.

Compare that to say the Pirates that may bring a handful.

This is why the Bears are linked not to be a joint venture partner
I think the 200k stems from the initial numbers lost + next generations that stem from that initial number ie kids etc.

That would be data NRL and broadcasters got and ran with it.

For example in 1999 my family alone would just been me and dad watching them. Now it’s me, dad, sister, my partner and my kid. That’s already an increase of more than double in one household alone. Just using that as soft sample of course of how I believe NRL/broadcasters thought process is. You can argue for and against this til cows come home but makes most sense.

Regardless of Greeny’s outlook and notion that Bears only have old men watching them, the truth is Bears in Cup pull in a lot of young families and kids to games. Probably 85% is made up of that demographic.

Whatever is the figure. It is still more than a brand new team brings in, This is the point of this partnership

In terms of the pay tv deal getting a Perth nrl team is worth almost nothing

Existing league fans already have it
So do fumbler fans

So where are the new viewers going to come from

The bears will get viewers in Sydney that don’t watch the game regularly now
I mean really?

Your argument is that the Perth TV potential is worth "nothing".

But there is some vast untapped TV audience in Sydney for RL?

f**k me.

Also, how to we believe that "super rich" Sydney based investors are willing, and will demand nothing.

BUT, the Bears would only invest if multiple games are played at an cricket oval??

You really can't tell the difference between a private investor who can increase his business by being on the West Coast

and

A community owned club whos mantra is RL on the North Shore of Sydney?

Or you just like being a f**kwit?

Strange he didnt mention new investors though? Maybe it was more about clarifying NRL wouldn'town it than how it would actually be owned?

His interview was after the WA Government said they have no interest in owning a team.

Those comments would be about that, Nick Pappas is on the advisory from the clubs. He'd no perfectly how it runs
