again why is a banana bender bear on other side of country saying things that happen but don’t think he has said he has a source. Perth reds has a source apparently oh and the coffee dates with old reds officials too. cmon mate, you didn’t reel in a 2m barra and without proof it’s just a furphy

Because there are two sides to it. He has it from the Bears side, Unless PR works in govt it is 3rd or 4th hand info.

Things change in a week.. let alone however long it takes to play out.

This is a free forum, There is zero to gain from anyone making up shit... well WB is fried from Drug use but again nothing to gain

Maybe if trolls like you pieface and pipsquek spent more time Sharing thoughts, ideas and predictions and less time talking about other posters it’d be a lot more fun in here? just a thought.

I stopped posting my mail in the Penrith section due to those who offer nothing coming after me when they were wrong...

Source came from close to the team but things changed when managers got involved etc.

That happens here. Those you speak of have never left their mums room

There’s goes any hopes of a new rectangular stadium at Burswood! This is the exact location I’ve been saying they should build one. Sigh.

Has anyone else been asking for this site for a rectangular stadium or just you? WA government are going to chuck money at Perth Oval from my understanding. I can't work out what is a legitimate moan anymore or unrealistic expectation.

If you're always wrong and your information is not from a direct source then you're just a pleb like the rest of us!!

Genuine question, what’s the appeal with Burswood besides being beside Optus & the Casino?

Granted I’ve never been to either and I’m being a google maps expert here but HBF looks closer to the CBD. It’s close to a couple train stations serviced by multiple lines, bars and restaurants nearby. Seems plenty of room for stadium expansion too.

Getting 27k out of the area might be a bit of a challenge but I would hope some improved pedestrian access would be included in stadium upgrades.

Another insider

Maybe leave your house and you might meet some sources too.

It really isn't that difficult. Players aren't in bubbles and you can play at any Oztag comp in Sydney and possibly Brisbane and run into them. there is no shortage of lower grader, players brother/partners who are plebs like the rest of us and say stuff to work mates at the same boring mundane jobs we are doing

Journos make a living from player managers leaking stuff all the time.

How do you think the public know x player is going to x club BEFORE it is announced?

It often is a real estate agent or someone getting a call and goes from there

I think you'll find it is just the personal preference of the poster. I've never heard of a proposed or suggested rectangular stadium being built in the Burswood area.

HBF Park is a decent enough stadium for NRL, union, and soccer. Upgrades are required, and seemingly locked in to getting done should we get an NRL team, and while the closest train stations would ideally be closer, it's not too bad. Broadmeadow Station in Newcastle is twice the distance, and Newcastle is about as heartland Rugby League as you get.

Burswood is a lot like Homebush,a big stadium but not alot of people live in the precinct. Things like the motorsport sport track are being added to try and make it more of a entertainment hub.
4000 residences are being built across the road at the back of Belmont racecourse so that may help make it feel more populated.

Your right about HBF. It's in a great spot for all the reasons you mentioned, I go to east Perth train station to go home and never have issues with the crowd dispersing. Hopefully the crowds will be much bigger than the current capacity so upgrades to the 2 train stations may be needed..

Not just Newy. Of all the Sydney grounds, only Homebush, Campbelltown and Belmore would have closer train stations. Kogarah would be similar. Suncorp would be further.
Two train stations that close would be rare.

Thanks. Whilst I can see the appeal of having a rectangular stadium as part of a sports & entertainment precinct with Optus it doesn’t look like HBF is in a bad spot by any means and has already some money spent on it.

Again I am just playing around with Google maps here but with HBF you have 2 train stations 11minutes walk away, 2 more within 20 minutes walk including Perth station which connects all current lines. Less than a 30 minute walk to the CBD. Location seems up there with the most central/accessible ones like Suncorp, AAMI, MCG, Adelaide Oval etc honestly.

Apologies for going off on a bit of a tangent here but I take interest in these things, I’d like to get to every NRL stadium in my lifetime, as well as the main 5 test cricket venues so Optus too for that matter.
